There will be a shortage of peas, 50% down

potatoes are not going to keep, farmers being advised to offload at the farm gate as they have had very high disease levels and cannot store. Skin may look normal but potatoes may be rotten inside or will go rotten quickly. So watch out

biofuel subsidies will be drastically cut in a few years, arable farmers are up in arms. Biofuels from food crops have kept world food prices high. That is good news as far as I am concerned

Poor you GQ, I got pyelonephritis when pregnant and it was painful and made me feel so ill. Get some lemon barley water in, it helped

Thanks for reporting back to us kittie. I'll plan my pea stocking for a little while. As much as it pains me to say, I think it will be frozen chips and instant mash for us this winter. I'm not prepared to take the risk of wasting my money on potatoes.

    Can I ask a question:

I'm making beef casserole in the SC tomorrow. Is this another thing I can add lentils to?

I think I may have come up with one thing to help our lack of money situation. We currently pay £70 per month to pay off OH's credit card (the minimum is £35, but as everyone knows...no point in just paying that!), although I'm sure it never goes down. Anyway, OH has a good credit rating so I think we could manage to take out another credit card to transfer the balance of this one too - not having to pay interest would be a massive bonus for us right now and I'm positive we could pay it off before the 0% ends, as it's not a huge amount. May talk to OH's brother about the matter, as I think it's something that he does often.
