I'm not even a teacher, I'm a member of the admin team, I'm 4'11 & over 60 & I've been stabbed in the leg with a sharpened unbrella point, pushed to the ground, threatened, sworn at, spat at, called a racist & generally manhandled. All by a few unruly ones, lots of out kids are lovely, honest!

Oh 3 year olds... I love you! Actually, to be fair I've had my fair share of dodgy situations with younger children I've worked with. I think (feeling threatened wise) it helps when you're double the size
I agree Kittie with the poorer but content idea. I once strived for showy, now I strive for happy.
Off to search for hand cream. Do Aldi do a one? Lacura creams are alright from what I remember. MrsL I didn't really get ya joke but I laughed at the toasti bit. I think had I understood fully I would have laughed my little socks off (and they are getting littler by the day with all the darning in 'em!)0 -
Im really feeling a bit down last few days, as probaly most of you know that my poor hubby is very disabled, well he is left side hemeplegia so he relies heavily on right leg....
Well he had a very sore calf 9 days ago so id rub some ointment on to help it a bit, but it slowly got worse, 2 days ago he swelled up quite huge, and he couldnt walk at all, so I phoned dr he came out and didnt like the look of it and thought it was DVT........
Up the hospital we go for an Doppler ultra scan, yes it is a clot plus its travelled from the calf now into his groin..........Thats very bad news and life threatning, trouble is he had a massive bleed on the brain 4 yrs ago(not a clot), so they need to thin his blood to stop it clotting, but by doing that the only medicine is dangerous that it may cause another bleed/stroke...........
But we have no choice of what to do, the drs know he is at high risk of having a further bleed but the DVT drugs he must have to stop the clot going to his heart, which it is on its way, so weve have a race against time to get his meds into him......................Yet they could kill him.......
What happens is is that a district nurse comes everymorning takes blood for a IRN reading they take that to hospital 24 miles away , then they phone me in between 5 and 7 pm to tell me how much Clexane I have to inject and how much warfarin to give him(2 dif strenghs of warfarin)..................Besides his epilepsy tabs......
I cant believe all this is happening to him, trouble is once youve got DVT youve got it for life.............Im honestly in shock with it all.........
Beings his mobility is so bad and he have to sit all day thats probaly whats caused it in the first place.........But why did he have to get this in his only good leg........
I take him to hospital for his MRI scan tomorrow at 6 pm, thats a total different problem.........
This year as been !!!!! , but god knows what a new year would bring...............
The only good thing about this week is the weather, its been dry and sunny but did notice this morning was quite chilly at 6......Gonna have to put the heating on in the mornings if this is the start of autumn......
Cant be cold and miserable together, so whatever I wont be cold........
Sorry for the big whinge, but life is cruel sometimes and I do ask "why us"............
God sometimes life get me down so much,0 -

Shegar I'm really sorry to read of such news. You post here and get rid of it all you like. I hope it's helped but I fear it won't have. Such a lot to be thinking about and worrying about right now. Thinking of you both x0

Shegar, huge hugs to you and your DH, what a dreadful worry to be going through.
Keep chatting on here as much as you need, your sanity will be pushed to the limits but there's always someone here to listen.
Fingers crossed the meds do what they need to without any adverse side effects."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
