Fuddle for malt loaf here's a recipe that I must have got from on here somewhere - apologies for not giving credit to the OP, I don't know who it is.
Malt Loaf Recipe
Preheat oven to gas mark 4. Put 3 weetabix, 4oz sugar and 40z of raisins or sultanas in a mixing bowl and add 1 mug of hot black tea. Leave to soak until the mixture has gone cold. Stir and add in 2 eggs. Stir again and add in 4oz self raising flour and 2oz porridge oats (optional but if not using oats substitute for 2 more ounces of flour). Mix thoroughly and add to a loaf tin and bake in the oven.
For scones I use this recipe mainly because I don't want to faff about with buttermilk.

We just went to our Mr M and they did not have this pork at £1.50 a kg. The only stuff I saw was £8 a kg and that was on offer0

Grandma, maybe they sold out, DD just came back and there were only 4 pieces left. they got me 4 kg for £5.95. I am going to cut steaks off and turn it into 3 joints and cook it tomorrow nice and slow.
Like the malt loaf recipe, Possession, I may chuck a couple of them in tomorrow too, might get rid of the awful mini chocolate chip weetabix my mum gave me.
I make a lot of scones and leave the old milk in the fridge for it, you can just add lemon juice to it to make buttermilk, though I have not tried it. i feeze them 2 in a bag so we dont eat them all at once.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -

Yes, same here, I'm afraid. It didn't look like there'd ever been any.

Ever seen a short, fat 70+ lady (I use the term loosely) leaping around the room, screaming with delight? I've just read in the local press that the site for our new Aldi is being prepared for building. They won't say when it will be open but I can wait. I think. I've been longing for this ever since I moved over here and every time I read on here of what you have all bought from your local store I weep bitter tears. Well now I'm having my own, although, being nicely brought up I'll share it with carefully selected neighbours.
Sorry. I think I started the !!!!!! craze. I did think when I typed it that it was a bit questionable but didn't have time to go back and edit. "!!!!!!". I thought to myself, "Let their disgusting minds make what they like of it." And you did. You never fail me.
Well I had a lovely time scouring shops for bargains and found a few. Quite a few actually. The Rev looked rather pale as I loaded bags into the car. Then we went to look at freezers. I am sick of having to take whole drawers out to find what I want, and some of the drawers are far too full to close properly. We found a nice one that had all the features we wanted and it was within our budget - mirabile dictu - so we bought it. I thought the nice saleman was going to have apoplexy when we solemnly decided on a white one because it would match the tumble dryer. Well, decor has to be considered.
Mrs Chip: It's a wonder I'm not an alcoholic. I was seriously addicted to my baby brother's gripe water when I was aged 6. Mum used to allow me the occasional teaspoonful, but it was never enough!
Both my boys absolutely loved rose hip syrup on rice pudding. My DS1 (aged 43) still speaks of it wistfully.
Nighty night.

I'm just lazy Ginny that's the only answer.
Actually that malt loaf recipe might work with the mountain of shreddies I haven't had time to do anything with yet. I need to find a staple my kids will actually eat - I thought they liked the jam crumblies and the tea loaf I baked and froze, but both have been rejected in packed lunches this week.
DD (7) just came downstairs in tears because she doesn't want to grow up and never wants to leave us.So I've had to promise she never has to, I've got her forever now.
