HAPPY BIRTHDAY SDG - Have a great one!!!
SMILEY - pleased to report that lurchers don't grow overnight after getting soaked, despite the full moon!!!!!!
When He who knows and I got married we had a very low key Registary Office wedding and afternoon tea at our house for family and close friends, followed by a self catered party that went on until silly o'clock in the morning. The only thing we didn't provide was the cake and MIL worked in a bakery so got that for us. That was 35 years ago!!!!
I also have mental pictures of all of you probably totally inacurate from the way you see the world in print. Have a good one folks, Happy September Cheers Lyn x.0 -
Do it cheapskate, go to the doc's for yourself. I was brought up to never show anyone your insecurities, never admit you're a failure and never ask for help. I got worse and worse as the years went on and only now do I feel my normal self. I've been on anti-d's for about 6 months now - they help me with my anxiety and my low moods.
It's about helping your brain learn how to get the signals it need for contentment. The anti-d's help get the signals to your brain, allowing your brain to relearn "ah, this is what I'm meant to do" kind of thing. Anti-d's don't fill you with happiness or contentment, you do that yourself when the connections work properlyDo it for yourself. It's the best thing I did even though I was a quivering mumbling wreck when I went to the doc for help.

Thanks for warming the tea up, lovely cuppa here
Well it's here folks, autumn that is. Good bye summer, what a laugh! I'm one of these people who can't help but treat September as the beginning of change. Sept means more to me than January 1st. It must be new school, new uniform, new pencil case and it used to be a new season of good stuff on the telly. I can't see how that is true any more but I think I'm turning into a telly grotbags. I only watch 2 programmes a week, soon to be 3 though, so that's progress. Right fuds, shut up and drink your tea and stop boring people!
Morning fuddle - pop over to the September new start thread today, its the 1st Sept today! Congrats on the job BTW - well done!

I avoid films of favourite books as i'm always so disappointed that the film-makers don't "see" the characters as I do - loved Victoria Wood as Nella Last though!
It's still raining here, and power was out again for a while overnight - silver lining though as it will take care of the 9% extra I need to find for it next month- Feels like we're heading back to the '70s.
Stiff and sore this morning as i've run out of meds (how did that happen????) so a slow start, then baking, knitting and make a list of small christmas pressies to make.
When I lived on the island i used to shop once a month/6 weeks on the mainland, but i've gotton out of the habit - using the local shops more and more. It's just too expensive though, so i've begun a list of everything I cook this week to try and get a huge master list going - theory being i'll head to Glasgow to the big supermarkets and try and hold down my grocery spending.
enjoy your day, WCS0 -
Morning all, sorry I've been posting several times randomly, got to get used to posting more frequently and seems to be mostly late eve or in morning when I'm sleepy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SDG :bdaycake:0 -
DH looking at me strangely as we went for hospital appointment this afternoon and he asked me if I had change for parking and how much was it. I replied £1.70 for an hour and £3.40 for two unless they have raised their prices as it is a month since we last went.
We drove in this afternoon - and they have raised their prices - by 20 pence for one hour etc.
I find when I am flippant I tend to hit the nail on the head and it really confuses DH and dds when I say "Let's try here" and then find what they want when we have stopped looking.
I know hospitals need the money , BUT this parking thing is so expensive.........
My hubby as a BB, and I always feel guilty using it , but I dont really know why cos he is in a wheelchair its probaly cos of all the people that sit in their cars watching you get out to see if you can walk or not:mad:............
I had to take him up Thursday for his botox, that appointment usually takes up to 1.5 hours and that would be £5.50 to park .......
So I know I dont pay to park but we have 56 mile round trip to hospital and the cost of fuel is pretty bad as we all know.........
Well September 1 st thats always the start of autumn to me , its a bit dull this morning but will sun up by lunch..................But the nights are quickly closing in on us..............
Ive got loads to do today so im off to get started...............0 -
Happy Birthday SDG
Cheapskate - please go see your doctor, sometimes its time for you to be number one, and it sounds as though this is your time.
I have woken up very deflated, am in pain and havent slept well, am worried about school next week and I have yet to respond to yesterdays email from "her".
My mum called earlier and announced that DS8 had asked to visit them tomorrow and so they were going to buy yet more junk food ready. No thought was made for the fact I am struggling nor was any thought made to the idea I may have plans. She got a bit put out when I told we were not going.
Most of our lives revolve around the two DS and the rest around the DD, I am unwilling to go down the route of having DS8 dictate where we go and when.
As for the email, I have made a stab at responding but am not really sure if I am getting the right tone. Have saved it to try again. A member of group contacted me yesterday and it was clear by her manner that she knew what had happened and I have been designated the villain. Its all so childish.
sorry for moan but it does help getting it down clearly.0 -
Cheapskate, you have to do what is best for you and yours and I think a Mum who isnt exhausted and worried all the time may be best. Just my 2 pennorth - i have been there years ago and I became a very poorly Ginnyknit.
GQ and all my dear friends with ME and Fibro I just hope today is a better day for you all.
Im exhausted, OH has been having nightmares every morning around 6 am - meds? - and I am worn out, he is so sorry when he remembers but he cannot help it.
just running up a cricket buffet for 14 (team and 2 umpires) Its a cup match and someone forgot the visitors needed feeding. Found out at 8pm last night so we ran to Mr T and then I baked till midnight. Luckily they are all veggies so it not too bad. Just the butties to make and packing up and Im done. Oh has learned to keep out of the way unless he is summoned to move things for me. :rotfl:
Re hospital parking, I wouldnt mind if there was a standard or a system that works. One hospital we go to you have to get your ticket validated at the office before you return to the car and there are kerbs and obstacles to scale, ok for us cos Im with him but no chance for an independant disabled person. One place the instructions were only at the exit so you would have to re-park, haul the wheelchair out again and re-negotiate the car park  Even worse if you have just fastened a disabled child in the car and have to take them out and go back to the car park office.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Morning all, I have taken to lurking rather than posting as I do not have the time to read on a daily basis but love to check up on you all. I do miss you all but RL seems to be taking up so much of my time these days.
We managed to save up enough to have a family hoiday this year and booked a 10 day camping holiday. Came home on day 7 due to the torrential rain. OH and I were soaked to the skin trying to get the tent down in the rain and howling wind. We must have been very funny to watch especially when the wind blew the tent up and over me and I could not fight my way out of it.
DD1 got A's and B's in her A levels (very proud of her)and starts at uni in a weeks time so I am going to be back to working extra shifts at the weekend to help finance it, she will look for a job there but there is no gurantee that she will get one. DD2 starts college on Tuesday although we still have not got her GCSE results as we were away at the time. I can not belive they are the ages they are, it really does not seem all that long since they were just starting school.
Have decided that I really need to get back to mealplanning to reduce the shopping bill further. My store cupboard is a very poor show as well. This time last year it was a store supboard to be proud of. What are you all stocking up on at the moment?
The veg in the garden and on the lottie are doing well although some are doing better than others. I have lots of herbs drying in the spare room at the moment. Have never really grown huge amounts of herbs before and have been pleased with the raised herb bed OH made for me. Have started to freeze excess produce to use over the winter. Has anyone stored HG spuds? What is the best way to do that? There are loads of them still in the ground on the lottie. Have also picked and frozen loads of blackberries. I have not made any chutney or jam yet as there is still quite a lot left over from last year when I went OTT in the amount that I made.
Have signed up for a 10 week night class in basic machine sewing techniques as I have not used the sewing machine that my dad bought for me in Feb. They also do a 10 week basic dress making course that I will sign up for if this one goes OK.
I have enjoyed the descriptions and introductions that people have posted. I too wonder what you all look like and have pictures in my mind when I read our posts.
Congrats on the job Fuddle.
Have blathered on long enough so will go back to lurking but will look in every now and then.
All te best
Mrs VPI am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.
