Byatt:- I am crying with laughter at your link! What a great way to start the day! :T

Today I am doing that strange ritual of cleaning the house because you are going on holiday! Don't laugh! I bet you all do it too! It's that coming home to a nice fresh bed and I don't know what, but I know you all know what I mean. :rotfl:
Because it was so wet yesterday I decided that Liver and Onions would be just the job for dinner today. And yes, we have blazing sunshine and high temps forecast for all day! Ya cannit win!

School have very strict uniform code and kids cannot wear coats, hats gloves etc even in winter, uniform is checked on yard and anyone not right gets sent home no exception.

Kidcat Do you mean they are not allowed to wear these at all?

If so what idiot thought that one up?

    :rotfl:Guilty as charged. :D

I have a whole day to myself and am trying to resist the urge to clean the house and clean out cupboards. The sun is shining so I might garden instead. That way I am relaxing but still achieving something. :o Also planning a wee forage later to see how the brambles and sloes are doing. The last of the elderflower champagne has been drunk so iI am eagerly awaiting the elderberries to do some cordial and wine.
Have been out this morning to pick more sweet peas and lillies to bring inside and am contemplating turning one of the veggie beds over to cut flower growing next year. Anyone else save money by growing their own cut flowers or have any tips for me? :)

PS. Fuddle, as long as you pick the growing tips, the nettles hould still be fine for eating. We eat them regularly into late summer. You need quite alot to make them a vegetable accompaniement but they go along way in soup. It's something I've been eating since I was a child and a firm favourite with my children so hopefully your littlies will love the taste. x

    Hi everyone

Hope all is well with you - have had a few days away from MSE thanks to long hours of unpaid overtime at work () and a raging migraine, but I'm back now and obviously have lots to catch up on! I'm off to get a cuppa and have a read... see you in a few hours!

yes grandma I mean not at all, they can wear them up to the school gate at which time they must remove them and put them into their bag until home time. In the meantime they are out on the yard for twenty minutes, lining up being inspected etc, by teachers wearing thick coats, gloves, hats scarves and carrying umbrellas!!

I was laughing so much last night I nearly wet myself.:o

Yep, I do (did :o) the cleaning ritual before a holiday, but on one occasion I was so keen to hoover the whole house including 2 sets of stairs that I injured my back, the day before we flew to Zante...I was in agony the whole holiday and couldn't drink because I was dosed up with painkillers! :o

I went out foraging and came back with 10...not pounds, but 10 blackberries :D...it seems in the deepest darkest south west ripe berries are rare! I did find nut looking (not me!) berries on a tree that looked almost like an oak, ,but wasn't, they are round/oval russet apple colour, hard and the size of cherry, but I don't know if they are edible or what they are...any suggestions please?

  • Do you know Kidcat I never gave a thought to buying more keys - we get 3 each time but then have another 3 made each time, never thought about how that is costing us money.....in fact going to get more keys cut later.

Just spoke to youngest DGD who is 3 today and I said she is so big and so lucky to have all the presents she was telling me she received and she just goes 'I know I am' she is so old fashioned.

Today am feeling it from my past two busy days - so unlike me as you know, but do get them about once a year still and its being able to do things like this still even if once a year that keeps me going, reminds me of what it is to be normal and gives me hope that as body is still capable of it even for this short time that one day it might be again.

I know what I did past few days is nothing compared to most of you, but to me it was a lot and it makes me feel so good I did it, especially being up to babysitting sons children, it was last August when I last did that,I feel actually part of the human race rather than an outsider looking in on it. Today thought its going to be maximum meds to get me out of this bed as just sitting propped up reading and typing is rather well painful and exhausting but must get over to see DGD as missed her brothers party in June, but as he had a proper party with lots of friends I was not missed but today its only family. We also are picking up DGD13 to take her to sons.

Not much about make do and mend here just all about me sorry.

Welcome to homerdog and harrybear_1988 and RosiePuddingPaws, ignore me. I always get a bit down after a good day or so, I think its I secretly hope I am cured and can work again instead of being on the scrapeheap........

Right will go and take more meds and cheer up............

Thanks guys for putting up with my highs and lows you all know how much having you in my life means to me.

    Hugs and Lovexxx
