eeek I have to add that the pic wasn't of my crumpets... I haven't made mine yet. It was a pic off google but I will be trying it out tomorrow. I just didn't want people giving me credit for those beauties as mine will no doubt be shapeless, flat and burned :rotfl:
You Charlatan!
I'd have kept quiet, meself, like :rotfl:0 -

Sorry can't bold anyone's names as this borrowed PC won't highlight anything less than a paragraph for some reason I cannot fathom, grrrr!
(((PAH))) the blasted lock saga never ends, you must be livid. It's really not an unreasonable expectation to be able to lock and unlock your home. Deffo get the MP and possibly the cavalry. And as for the fiasco of the trolley saga; bad enough for anyone but for someone with your health problems it's appalling.
I'm away from home as is my usual habit at Bank Hols and visiting parents and grandparent. Nice to see the folks and we spent 5 hours at Nan's visiting and doing gardening and housework and catching up with Auntie and worrying about Uncle's foot.
THe weather was OK for the morning then there was 45 mins of heavy rain at lunchtime, dried out a bit in the afternoon and then settled in to rain consistantly from the early evening.
I hope it dries out as I really really want to go to a big bootsale nearby tomorrow but we'll get what we'll get and have to lump it, so no point in fretting.
This talk of blackberries reminds me must check my local haunts. Can't beat a h.m blackberry and apple pie, IMO, even if my pastry isn't a patch on Nan's. Sometimes, I think you have to spend a certain amount of time at this cooking game and I've been a bit of a late starter.
Haven't actually poisoned anyone yet (to my knowledge, anyway).
Ohh, about ticks which give me the absolute heebeejebies, there is also a gadget called a tick lassoo and I swear I am not making that up.
 Oh, one of the two cats has just come in wringing wet. It's the shorthaired one. Dread to think what the fluffy one will be like when she decides to come in as it's been tipping down for hours. It's their own choice to be out there as there is an open window in the room I'm in and they could let themselves in at any time. Cats, eh, no accounting for their funny little ways.
Have a good evening, everybody, hoping for better weather tomorrow. GQ xEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Gailey - I'm so pleased that you can use FB to keep in touch with your friends & family. You sound like you need a bit of support at the mo. Do you have anyone who can help you just a little bit? Someone said already to just keep one room tidy, and that's very good advice. Try not to worry, and just make a short list of the really important things to do. The rest will wait a while. Please look after yourself. Lots of hugs. x2025 Fashion on the ration

aargh Kidcat thats really going to bug me now..I saw something online about storing wrapping paper so it didn't unroll and thought wow what a great idea and I haven't bookmarked it
Sure it involved either wrapping a cut 2litre bottle round it so it curled onto it and held it together or something equally curly :rotfl:I'll shut up now and go search for it instead

I have ordered two Christmas presents today:eek: not something I would normally do, I mean I will pick up little gifts for teachers etc if I see them but today I spotted gifts for DS8 and DD6 so I have jumped in and ordered them.0 -
Hullo!Welcome. In my early 30's myself and have been slowly frugal for a long time really. Even when I wasn't frugal per se, I was a homely gardener/baker and didn't fit in with my circle of friends too well.
You're going to love it hereHope you stick around.
For the dyeing of jeggings. I would look at the fabric content. I there's polyester in there then I'm afraid they won't dye... well they possible could but it would need a stronger dye then home dyes and very, very high temperatures. If they're cotton or the like then go for it.
Nice to know I'm not a total oddball then! People can be so dismissive of OS ways...whilst they're racking up their nice big credit card bills.
Thanks for the advice re the jeggings, and to the other kind poster too, sadly they are 20 %polyester so I'm glad you told me to check
Will try washing at a higher temp and see if they shrink a little, suppose I could use my mum's tumble dryer as that seems to shrink everything!!!
Hope you have all had a good day, just attempting the nightshift now eeek xxxx0
