    Afternoon everyone,

Well today has not started off well as of tomorrow I am unemployed:(
I only work part time, but the lady who owns the place where I work said she is finding it hard to go on. I do feel for her she has owned this place along time, and I do understand.
So the budget will need to be tighten so tight.
My OH is retired, so this afternoon, will be spent going over everything to see what we can cut. So wish me luck.

Good luck, I really feel for you.

Renewed DH car insurance this morning using TCB and with the cashback (when we eventually get it) it made it £146.24 which is a lot cheaper than last year and a bloomin lot different than the renewal quote was. The renewal quote was the only thing that made us laugh heartily in a long while :rotfl::rotfl:
    Maybe too personal warning!

I have been trying A1di tampons this week and I can say there is no difference between them and T@mpax apart from the price at 75p I will be stocking up at A1di more often although I don't think I can retire just yet :D

These moon cups doofers have been recommended before but I think a little more courage needs plucking before I try them :o.

Well the heavens have just opened again :( at least we got the dogs out earlier for a long walk and nipped out between downpours yesterday so we have done well to avoid the wet dog smell :rotfl::rotfl:

Chins up Ladies the sun can't hide forever

Hobson's Choice - we have a really ill cotoneaster which we spent yesterday chopping back to the stumps we think it may have a condition called Fireblght which is spread during wet humid conditions - which we have been having. We have had to burn the the entire cuttings. In order to try and save the cotoneaster this is a radical step but we have had no choice! Also we have sprayed the stumps with Rose Clear to get rid of anything else.

We also have an invasion of ants as well! In fact we have a few mounds of them in our lawn and round the patio area. The mock orange bush has allot of them but I have left them alone just in case they are after greenfly etc!
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

3 pages and the multiquote didn't work, going to have to talk to you all from memory :mad: So sorry if I forget something.

The big sunshine cheered me up :D

So sorry to read about job losses. I don't really know what else to say other than I know how you're feeling right now :(

pops slow cooking is so easy. you don't need any instruction manual ;) Just remember to add a little liquid, not too much because it doesn't evaporate, and with chicken especially, it loses a lot of water but makes that gorgeous stock people are talking about. :) the chicken will literally fall off the bone. I'm finding 80% of my meals are done in sc now.

I so know i've forgotten to comment on something important :o sorry

Waved goodbye to Dd and Dgs today, they have gone to Wales in a caravan for a week with a friend and her little girl. Just hope it stays dry for some of the time. She will enjoy herself whatever the weather with her little man. Just hoping OH doesnt miss him to much as he can manage to drive over to their house and spend an hour with him a couple of times a week.

So sorry to hear your news sunshine (and kitschy) but we are here for moral support.

Popperwell, roasting bags work really well in the slo cooker - I am a new convert. I intend to bag off a couple of casseroles and pop them in there this week - and dont forget to cut the top corner off the bag to let the steam out. I hate scrubbing out the sc so its win win for me :rotfl:

Have been out and checked my crops today - blo**y bugs have eaten DGS's strawberries now  I have one bean plant which is now christened Terry the Triffid and a 2cm watercress plant :j Have had some lovely spuds though.

OH and DS havent realised we are living on leftovers, not that they would bother, so it was a huge omlette for lunch filled with cooked spuds, half a grotty pepper and some sliced turkey and thanks to Fuddle ( I think) its chilli and wedges for tea - I needed inspiration and she provided it - thank you! Chilli was part of the big batch I made last week. Dehydraytor needs emptying now, onions and some mushrooms that were getting a bit dry anyway. I must try pineapple next some one said its fab.

It was nice here this morning, then as soon as I asked DS to strim the lawn the heavens opened - barely 30 seconds later, I kid you not! It's hammered down ever since (3 hours now) :(

So sorry to hear of a couple of you suddenly losing jobs - I think things are getting worse for everyone (except the high mukk-lukks who STILL reckon they're doing as badly as the rest of us! :rotfl:) My DS has serious financial woes, my DD is slipping down the slope as well now, although they're the architects of their own downfalls it's still hard.

The only high points of today are that I'm now in for the day, don't have to go out in the rain, having rump steak (YS of course!) for tea, and there's even a glass of wine each (just) in the fridge! :rotfl::j Oh and I managed to postpone a filling I need until August - hate the dentist! :D

If most things can be cooked in the Slow Cooker and it's energy efficient I'll be laughing...and with the Micro combi and halogen oven I'm quite set up(I have learn how to use them next...)

Maybe it would be better to ask what it doesn't do?

As I tend to go ages befor eating a main hot meal and in the day time it's snacks, cereals, sandwiches and salads, that means by the time the Slow Cooker does it's magic I'll be ready for it;)
