Yay, DH officially has a job and has accepted - it's the second one he was offered and its a 12 month contract in our home town so no big commute.
Much relief to be able to stop the interview process - they guy today barely let him get a word in edgeways and told him the company were in financial trouble and unable to get bank funding so alarm bells there!

  • Have just been called rude by a cold caller because I politely interupted her to tell her I do not discuss my financial matters with cold callers

Progress is slow with decorating the bedrooms. Have moved all of DD2's stuff into the newly decorated room and will finish sorting it out tomorrow, she will have to sleep in her old room tonight as that still has curtains up. Hopefully OH will paint the ceiling in the next bedroom and I will do the edges of the ceiling and then start the walls tomorrow. Is is starting to feel never ending.

My lovely neighbours who have only been here 18 months have moved out today and new neighbours arrive tomorrow. Hope thye are nice. We have been really lucky with neighbours.

Off to finish off the HM chicken soup for tea. I am also experimenting with using soya milk to make a rice pudding.

Well, my 2 granddaughters have broken up for half term today so it seems I'm to be saddled with 3 instead of 1 child to look after for the next week and a day...I say saddled but of course I love them all dearly, they're just such hard work. I've lots of baking and crafty related things planned but will struggle because the little one has only just turned 1 year old.
Have already got shepherds pie done for their lunch tomorrow and have started rice pudding off in the over with our tea tonight so that will be nice and thick for their pudding too.
Have just booked a place for Lisakay and myself on a "festive craft extravaganze" with a local company who recycle and revamp and make all sorts of things using what u might otherwise throw away...should be fun and interesting. It will also give me ideas for what to do with the grandchildren next time they're on holiday.
Waiting for DS and DH to get home from work and starting to get peckish now, will go and do a bit of knitting until they get in...ooohh and mustn't forget the last episode of Wartime Farm either.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MRS CHIPS AND SMILEY T XXXX

Hmm and the thing is the banks and police tell you not to discuss stuff with cold callers as well - so well done you!

I'm afraid I just hang up on cold callers these days cos I get such a lot of them...AND they always seem to call when I've got DGS off to sleep and wake him up.

I'm on the telephone preference scheme, ex directory and usually leave the ringer off, I can do so because I am not expecting calls from anyone(no family/friends)and occasionally I check who called using 1471 and if some calls do not leave a number to call I cannot be blamed for not calling them back.

Recently when I did leave the ringer on I had calls that rang for such a short amount of time I could not reach the phone in time anyhow...I was tired of just getting there as it stopped.
