I remember reading Forever by Judy Blume when I was a teenager. I was in WHSmith with my mum (who actually bought it for me) & my little sister piped up: "You can't buy her that, he takes his pyjama bottoms off". Ralph the penis

Ha ha, thats the first thing I thought when everyone started going mad for the books, its like 'forever' at school again!!!! (I think we had one copy that went round the whole class!)0

Well, I was determind NOT to get this based on the reviews on Amazon and here so I downloaded 3 other erotic fiction books of short stories and read all of that on Saturday (when I put my mind to it I can really put loads of hours into reading).
So yesterday I thought right ok - I am doing to download it and read it.
TBH I am actually enjoying it so far - don't know how many pages I am in or chapters (not been looking) but it's an ok read.
I do like the occasional trashy Jackie Collins book so i put it in that category.
Having never seen the Twighlight saga films/books etc I can't get the connection that some of you are saying, however, I do have a mental picture of Christian Grey and freakily enough, this actor was on TV last night in a film lol
So, I'll carry on reading - I've probably skipped over the fact that it's not exactly classically written and am just enjoying the story so far
I suppose it possibly helps that oh & I are into a bit of bondage and that we have good friends who are really into the whole Sub/Dom scene so I am sort of imagining them lol0 -

Wasn't this type of naive-young-woman-meets-slightly-mental-more-expereinced-man-with-a-dash-of-s&m story done in Secretary years ago?
I loved that film!!
I am nearly at the end of the first 50SOG book and have the other two ready to read - they are not that bad, a bit cringy but I like to read all sorts. The sex is not as kinky as has been made out.0 -
It keeps promising to be really kinky and it keeps letting me down :rotfl:I loved that film!!

I'm starting to get bored with it now.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Love that Amazon link - however, will be watching it with the sound up later!! LOL!!
Someone called 'amberance' started her blog 'I'm reading 50 Shades so you do not have to'. I sat last week and read the whole lot and spent half of it in hysterics.
This is the first one

If you look on the right there is a list of more under June if they have collapsed into the folder. She gives her opinion on them as someone who who is onto the BDSM culture. She is not too happy about the book in all honesty, LOL, if you have not read it and want a bit of an insight to this is reviewed chapter by chapter.0 -
No, I'm not interested in reading them. To be honest-I'm fed up hearing about it now. I can't believe so many of my friends are bragging about the books, now how many of them would brag about watching !!!!!! online?! LOL. Some how it seems 'normal' to be reading them, anywhere including at work and on the bus. I wouldn't be telling the world about it to be honest.
The main thing though that put me off was how badly it is written. If I want to read erotic books-they need to be well written!
Mommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0 -
Surely Our Lady of the Flowers and Venus in Furs would be better written - and not a cable tie in sight.;)Debt September 2020 BIG FAT ZERO!
Now mortgage free, sort of retired, reducing and reusing and putting money away for grandchildren...0 -
Im really not interested in a book that portrays a S&D relationship like that, poorly written, the sex scenes are like someone who cant write the word penis and vagina...
