    Morning all...nearly the weekend!!:j

Had some great news yesterday....i am able to go into the flat on friday afternoon to see it (only ever seen the floorplans!) and to measure up windows etc!!

I am preparing myself for it to be small....anything after my mothers massive home anything will feel small, especially a new build!!! but it will be MY small home so I dont care!!!!!

Really looking forward to seeing it and the tiles, kitchen etc that i was able to pick!!

Apart from lunch yesterday, no more spends. We went to dinner at the bf's dads house and it was lovely...his stepmom had done meatballs and they were delicious!!! Should of tried to sneak some into my pockets for lunch today!! :D:D

The good news is I have remembered my lunch today :j

The bad news is I have to go to m0rrisons today at lunch as I need a birthday card (for after work) and a chorizo to go with dinner. I did buy one at the weekend, but have been snacking on it all week and it appears to have vanished!!

It is indeed...i cant wait to see it!!!

I am preparing my list of things to do / ask, feel free to add any that you can think of.....

Measure windows for Blinds & Curtians

Enquire as to the structure of walls and recomended way to put shelves / pictures up

Book my new home demo for completion day as no other time available to take off work.

Ask if they can leave on coverings to the flooring and kitchen as I will be getting the big L shaped room painted prior to moving in.

Count the kitchen cupboards and look inside to determin if space to have one with a bin in it rather than having it out

Anything else?? I wont be in there too long, and it will be my new home demo where they will show me how everything works etc!!

Cant wait, cant wait, cant wait!!!:j:j:j:j

Obviously these are not 'necessities' however they are not things I am particularly looking to cut down on. Whilst i want to save as much as I can, I also want to continue to have a life...just be a little bit wiser about it. For instance still have toast at the gym on a Sunday morning, but instead of a glass of coke, take my own water bottle (which is allowed!).

Have you tried Martin's Demotivator tool - it works out how long it takes you to earn that coffee etc, which is a big help. Also, if you have a decent spreadsheet set up, bung the cost of the coffee into it and see how much it reduces the balance by - it that £2.49 coffee is actually 'costing' £4.18 you might decide you don't want it after all ;).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Oh that sounds good I will have a look on there and yep I can't wait to set my spreadsheets up....think I may need a bit of help though so listen out for my cries!!! I understand excel pretty well but not mortgages or rather how they calculate interest!

Just a few hours till I go...so looking forward to seeing the inside!

Will be stopping by m0rrisons later this evening and hopefully pick up some whoopsies bread and bits to take with me tomorrow. Planning on leaving at 7 am for the journey to go get the chairs, it should take about 3 hours each way and I no if I do not take food with me I will end up stopping and paying service station prices for food, so am thinking ideally a whoopsied French stick, cooked extra tasty chicken (these are normally down from 4.50 ish to 2.225 ish on a Friday evening) and some cheese savouries crisps....hopefully about 3£ spend for some crusty chicken sandwiches! Would easily spend £10-£15 if I went to the services!

Not much else planned tomorrow....maybe a nap after the long drive! Sunday is going to be my eBay day!!

Would like to have a small spend weekend as a, I have put in extra petrol this week and will prob need another £20 ish to make it through to next Wednesday, and b, we are going out next weekend with the bf's step brother and wife....sushi place and a few drinks so would like to try to save as much money to 'carry over' to next week as possible!

Have a great weekend all :j:j:beer::beer:

Well what a successfull weekend that was!!
I went down London way on saturday to go and collect the chairs....and I am very very happy with them!!!:j:j:j
I decided to use £20 worth of the £40 petrol money I had allowed which made the total cost of the chairs and table £210 :j:j:j:j

Went to B&Q on the way back to pick up some paint samples and also bought a cushion that was in the reduced section and also filled back up with more petrol.

Will update spending diary in a min. As i put a fair amount of petrol in when I re-topped up it means that I wont need to put as much in this week. Also we are planning to go out with bf's step brother and wife, but have now decided not to stay over so I wont drink. Im not a massive drinnker anyway, but it will mean it should save us a bit of money and also wake up at home so can get all the packing etc underway!!

Went to see the flat on friday afternoon, really happy with it!! As i expected, it felt small, but cant wait to get in there now and as silly as it sounds, i think it will look bigger when my furniture is in there!!

So 1 week tomorrow we complete and 1 week on saturday I move in.....need to get this week out of the way pronto!!!!

Did a roast yesterday using Quintwins idea of pork joint done in the slow cooker....added no liquid but did add some honey, wholegrain mustard and a bit of thyme....it was absolutley delcious!! Plenty for 4n people and the whole meal (including roasties and veg etc) prob cost about £6 :D:D Def going to be one to repeat!!

So hope all have a fab week....and heres to the countdown!!:beer::beer:

Just updated my spending diary and realised that I was actually very MSE on the journey to get the chairs, even though it was over a 300 mile round trip...i did not spend a single penny at the services.....apart from when I actually stoped to 'spend a penny' :rotfl:

I went to asda on Friday evening and bought some bits and pieces...totalled £4.80 and made sandwiches to take with me, numerous little cans of pop and a pack of crisps!! Never would I of thought to do something like this in the past....its nice to see the difference in myself!

Well done of your frugal trip :)

I know what you mean about your house, it's not that it will look bigger at the moment it looks bare and small, but with all your stuff with will look cosy and homely.

Glad you liked your pork but you most have done a massive roast if it cost you £6 lol unless your one of those lazy people with frozen yorhsires and roasties :p next time you make some keep some back and have it in a wrap with cucumber and tomatoe strips.....yummy.

Only a week left :j i'm so excited for you.
