    Good morning everyone

    Happy Birthday Essex Girl

Well I'm very happy today. Went out to lunch yesterday with a very nice young man. We had a lovely afternoon and I've not stopped smiling since!!!

Meant to be going out on an appointment at lunchtime, but not feeling great, so might cancel! I've a nagging cough that just won't go away. I've had it for a week now and last night it decided to keep me awake for two hours:mad:

Overtime tonight as there's football on. Just what I need in this freezing weather!! Ah well, I need the money for the flat.

    Hope everyone's ok

  • Morning everyone :) Happy Birthday Essex Girl.

Had a terrible nights sleep, kept waking up every hour got up at 4am and went downstairs and turned the tv on. I think I'm just stressing slightly as I have a new starter in my team at work today. This is the first new starter since I got promoted, next one starts in 2 weeks.

I hope everyone is doing ok. I don't get a chance to keep up with this thread much at the moment as work is really busy and I'm trying not to spend all night on the computer once I get home.

Hope everyone has a good day

Happy birthday Essex Girl - I hope you have a lovely day.

N9eav - Sorry about your boat.

Catowen - You must be a lovely person if the teenager felt comfortable enough to come to you.

Hugs to everyone who had a bad day yesterday - think positive today will be better!

Poor DD1 is out on her paper round, DH is away so I can't give her a lift in the car. It has only just stopped snowing. I can't wait until Sunday when I take baby girl to Spain for a few days to stay with my Dad.

Local market today so I'll try and park and get some fresh veggies, the cupboard is bare. I want to eat out of the freezer until we all go away on Sunday - it gives me more spending money for treats!

    DW unloaded.
Off to iron DS2's shirt which is on the rad drying.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning all,

Happy Birthday Essex Girl - Have a great day.

Just peeked outside and I see blue skys. I have no idea how cold it is out there. It's been like a sauna in our room last night. Couldn't see anywhere to turn it down but it was so uncomfortable. So didn't get the best of sleeps.

9Neav What a pain in the bum for you. Years ago when DH was away someone was trying to milk our truck. The truck was parked on the side of the house near our bedroom and it woke me up. At the time we had a rottweiller :D so snuck him through the house, out the front door & then said *attack*. :p Got rid of him in a hurry.

Well I better get ready. Catching the ferry back around midday. Hope the winds have dropped. ;) Have a great day all. Byeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

:bdaycake: Happy Birthdat Essex Girl!!!! Hope it's a good one!

Just a quickie from me this morning, I'm babysitting at 9am:D DGS2 (4 months) so that'll be lovely.

Had DH's aunt's funeral yesterday. Was a lovely service although only a small gathering, suppose that's the norm when you get to such a good age. At least the hail and snow held off until afterwards.

It's blooming cold here this morning. Hope we get some sun soon, I don't mind the cold if it's sunny and bright.

smokybabe love the prayer, how true:rotfl: :rotfl:

Well suppose I'd better have a quick shower and get dressed, I've got to battle the local traffic jams to get to DIL.

Hope you all have a good day,

    CMxx

    Hi everyone,

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Essex Girl :bdaycake:

I'm here after all, but shouldn't be. Just wanted to share something with you all.

    The coot chicks have hatched! :j :j :j :j

I've not seen them yet but have seem Mum and Dad feeding tiny little morsels of food into the nest. Bread is off the menu, they are on little bits of moss and other greenery collected from the sides of the canal.

OK, so they ain't pretty, but I like them :D

I'll catch up with you all later, not read the thread yet so hope everyone is having a better day today.

    Morning :)

After my rant here yesterday I washed up the pans (left the rest for the kids ;) ) and got to work on chicken casserole (decided against curry, went for Spanish chicken with tomatoes and peppers), stripped all the meat off the second chicken, made stock with all the bones and dodgy onions/carrots from the fridge (I'm learning!). When the kids got home I had a fit on them, seemed to pay off, they did the washing up AND washed up after they'd finished eating..... wonder how long that'll last?

Tonight it's sausage and bacon casserole, using the chunkier bits from the bacon misshapes DS got from Bookers (two huge bags for £4!)

I can't believe how much I'm enjoying OS cooking :D

Tescos delivery this afternoon, still spending too much but I am buying more ingredients and less ready meals. Ordered my first ever bag of lentils to try - I'm trying out cheaper food so I can teach DD1 to cook budget meals when she goes to Uni in September.

    Oops I've waffled :o

Hugs to 9Neav, Churchmouse, DLB, stressedoutmumof1.

    Happy birthday Essex Girl!

Hi Y'all, bright and sunny here in the emids (so far) the weather is so unchangeable at the mo!

The usual grind here today - nothing outstanding.

We are having friends over on Saturday, I thought I would do an old fashioned high tea, complete with tri-decker cake stand LOL, so I will need to leaf through my baking file at some time:rolleyes:

N9eav - How blood boiling:mad: I hope you are feeling calmer now! My ebay stuff is all ending today and apart from dozy questions I've had not a sniff of interest, so I'm cheesed off ebay-wise too.:D

Twink - Trust you to think of the birds:cool: Keep warm

dlb - From experience your house never shines brighter than after a FURY CLEAN:D Been there, done that, worn out the duster:rotfl:

Scuzz - You hussy, setting ya cap are ya:kisses2: Keep smiling, sighing, and looking wistful.

Hope everything is OK with Moggins and Ticklemouse, ((HUGS)) anyway

    Have a good morning
