Going forward I will not be posting any more updates on this matter as I have noticed that certain people are not sticking to the issue.
When I read posts I like people to come back with an update but reading what some people have wrote I can understand why people decline.

Yvonne, I have followed this from the beginning and understand why you have decided to refrain from posting any more. When some posters were doubting you as you hadn't been back on here to update I must admit my assumption was that you were probably comforting your poor friend who has just had the future she had planned pulled from under her feet; I would have thought less of you if you had kept jumping on here to update everyone.

All I wanted to say was that I think you have been in a very difficult position for the last few days but that, imho, you have acted correctly. Now just continue to be the best friend you can possibly be to your best friend - she's going to need you. Good luck to her and her baby

Yes, but what are the odds that a Hollyoaks character will use google to look for advice on this exact situation ?

As my business life was beginning to mix due to this situation I spoke with HR before saying anything to ***** and also after.

That's not going to help you if your colleague complains to HR that as her superior you instructed her to attend you in your office during working hours so that you could make comments and interfere in her private life.

But it will if HR advised the OP of what to do, and she followed that advice to the letter. Anyway, isn't taking an holistic view of an employee's wellbeing (particularly in pregnancy) part & parcel of good management, H&S, HR and Occy Health guidelines? If she had been advised to speak to her by HR then I would guess that she has also been asked to provide a written note of what was said & any reaction for HR.

I don't believe one single word of it.

Thank goodness somebody finally said it! The OP does have a tendency towards drama, and there are far too many little inconsistencies for me to believe it ;)

Yes, I do not doubt that this does sadly happen in real life ,and this may or may not be true here, but it is the inconsistencies that have put me in two minds.

I find you totally disgusting, sitting behind your P.C accusing people of god know's what.
I didn't realise you knew the OP on a personal level.

I have been following this thread and could not pass by and not say anything. How dare you and others judge people when your life is far from perfect, I have not seen one statement where the OP has been rude to anyone on this thread unllike YOU sitting on your high horse.

I for one minute do not think the OP is making this up as I myself has been in a similar situation where I lied to my wife and children as I was having an affair.

I can admit to it now as I know what I done was wrong, there are women on here blasting the OP caller her a liar ect and you would have been the type of women I would go for as no matter what you would never believe anyone accept me and my lies.

Its a shame more people on here are not coming forward and confessing.

OP I for one :T for being the person you are and not reacting to small minded people who see the world via rose tinted glasses.

I hope you and your friend are doing well and please don't let ignorant put you off asking for advise.

Welcome to MSE what a thoroughly lovely first post, from what sounds like a thoroughly lovely man.;)
