Ringworm... advice please...

I have had ringworm a couple of times in the past decade but it has only been 1 patch and I have gotten rid of it with antifungal cream.

I moved house last summer and a couple of months later I discovered a patch on the top of my arm. I used the cream and it seemed to disappear.

I then discovered another patch on the top of the same arm and treated it as before etc..

That was about 4/5 months ago - since then I have had 5 or 6 patches on my arm, 2 on my torso, 1 on my back & 2 on my chest which keep coming and going. I have tried 2 different creams (canestan which a pharmasist recommended & daktarin which was prescribed by the Dr and has hydrocortizone in it) and I just cant seem to get rid of it of stop it spreading.

I have started washing towels, clothes, bras etc after just 1 wear/use with some tea tree oil in with the detergent... and i'm washing my bed linen as much as is humanly possible. This is obviously proving expensive (washing machine on constantly, detergent, tea tree oil) and very time consuming.

I have just bought some of these;

Spilanthes

and some Witch Hazel.. which were both recommended on another website and it also said I could use neat tea tree oil on a gauze on the patches overnight.

I just wondered if anyone here had experienced problems and might have some advice? The stress of it has also flared up excema all over my face (which i presumed was ringworm for a while so was treating it with canestan which cant have done it much good!:mad: ) & when I went to the Dr's they said all the skin things I was experiencing were due to stress and really werent helpful at all (I know there isn't much they can do but it made me feel even more hopeless about it all). I keep finding small itchy patches and not knowing if it is ringworm or excema and its driving me bonkers.

Am I going to be able to get rid of this without constantly getting reinfected? The house we rent is rather old fashioned and has alot of wood panelling & wooden shelving for our clothes etc.. could the fungus be living on there somewhere and therefore i'll just keep getting infected as long as we live there?

I know its only a silly skin thing but it is getting SO frustrating I don't know what to do to help myself anymore! help!
