Hi All,
Scottish Power have just announced their new tariff 'Online Energy Saver 3'
This will be their cheapest online tarif. Not exactly a price reduction more like a new product.
Also if you are already with Scottish Power just phone them up and switch to this and instantly save £££'s :j

What are the tariffs as looking at the Scottish Power web site the only figures i can find are dated July 2006 ScottishPower area (code 18) (for my location)

The tariff came out on the 16th March so they may not have been able to update there site yet. Have a look at these unit rates i've got for your area(code 18) including VAT. You can confirm this with them over the phone.
Hope this helps,
ScottishPower Online Energy Saver 3

This new tariff was announced on 16/3/07, but is not available till 5/4/07.
This makes no difference if you are switching to it as the switch won't be completed by then, so you will get the rates as soon as you do complete the switch.
But existing customers can ring them now and ask to be switched to energy saver 3 when the tariff comes into effect on 5/4/07.0 -
Is this like energy saver 2 which was only available to dual fuel customers?0
-
Yes this is similar to the Online Energy Saver 2 tariff and is for Dual Fuel customers only. Its a shame they can't offer these prices for those of us who have electricity only.:(0

I use scottish power for electricity and gas but does not do it online. Does that means to qualilfy for this tariff I will have to apply onlilne? I phoned CS this afternoon complaining about the high energy prices and whether they are lookoing for a price reduction and she told me no. Thanks0

Yeah you can apply for it online or even over the phone. In fact your best bet is to apply on one of the comparrison sites that offer cash back and get yourself some extra cash for switching to their online tariff. I manage my account online an its so much better.
No more estimated bills!!!0 -

As Loulou is already a dual fuel customer there would be no cashback by switching via a comparison site.
To have the online energy saver tariff from Scottish Power you must pay by monthly direct debit to be eligible.0 -
Are you sure Quentin?
If she is on the Standard tariff for Gas and Electricity then some comparrison sites will pay if you switch your tariff through them. For expample, nPower will not let you switch tariffs with them let alone through comparrison sites so do not show up in the results if you select them as your current supplier.
The likes of British Gas and Scottish Power do allow this. As when selecting them as your current supplier with a standard tariff, their online tariffs appear in the results section and even ask you to give your gas/electricity account numbers when applying.
All that happens is the supplier tells the comparrison site that the account has gone live and they will pay you the money out to you. :cool:0 -

It's not just about confirming the account is live.
The comparison site needs to have received its commission before it will pay you the money out.
When you switch via a cashback comparison site, the cashback comes as a result of the power company paying commission to the comparison company for finding them a new customer.
When they receive the commission, the comparison site pays out the cashback.
But the power companies don't pay any commission if all the comparison site has done is send them an existing dual fuel customer's details for a tariff change.
All the comparison sites cover this in the cashback conditions.
This is from Simply Switch:Customers will receive £15 for each new supplier that they switch to0
