    Drink drive in 2011,ban
    drink drive in 2014 @ over 3 times the limit,hit a cyclist/pedestrian & get a ban + suspended sentence
roll on 2018 for the hat trick

I thought this was about cyclists death, was anyone killed here?

Go on nail your colours to the mast custard, what sentence would have been appropriate?

Ah,once more you pick my post Mark.
    Nothing but predictable :)
Would it be better if he had killed the guy with the bike?
I mean he was 3 times over the limit while 'caring' for his daughter. You know, the one used as a mitigation for no jail time.
Well how about a life ban from driving?

It happened in England not Scotland.

Predictable from you sitting on the fence when it comes to sentencing.

    On the fence?
I obviously dont understand the phrase given Im asking for harsher sentencing.
must be a rickety old fence

Look at the status of life bans. They simply dont get handed out as they should.
how often do you hear someone get banned for life?
A licence should be treated as a privilege that can be revoked if you fail to meet the standards

    It doesn't work thought.

I know someone who was disqualified for life, twice. Didn't work the first time as they banned him for a second time. Guess what? He still drove whilst disqualified.

So ban for life, then go with jail terms.
    seems easy enough

Well then he can get on his bike and cause havoc on the roads, but of course then he will become one of your lycra brethren who can do no wrong.

You do realise that judges are instructed not to send people to prison?

Maybe you don't and are that far out of touch with the real world.

and as has been covered before.
if ithe sentencing guidelines dont work, they need changed.
or are people to die with no consequence?
Or is the real world you live in fine with your mate just being rebanned?
