Rather off topic, but has anyone read the book of The Woman in Black? Just finished reading it and thought it was excellent, had already seen the play (but not the film yet). Also has anyone read any of her (Susan Hill) other books and are they as good.

My BS order arrived today :T pretty good considering it was only order on Monday evening and was on their standard delivery.
Anyway very pleased with everything, the shower gels and deodrorants can be used by my BF, the perfume is lovely as well, even though I don't need it :p

beautiful day here today, so nice to see the sun for a change! :D

im a map turner too, its much easier to get a visual if its the "right" way up.

still no more UU. pretty much everything is full size apart from 2 sample sizes I've only just really started on!

Question for today; (if it's not too cheeky to ask 2 days running :o)
Do you turn the map when you're trying to read it or do you hold it the "right" way up and then figure out your location even if it's upside down (IYSWIM?).
Me, I turn the map, it's far easier to navigate when the map is facing in the direction you're going in!

As MrM has a company car he has Smartnav installed which is brill because you ring them up and they find the best route for you. In bygone days when we relied on maps I used to turn them every which way and still couldnt read it. I remember the joy of planning a trip to Blackpool with me navigating and us nearly ending up in Halifax.

im on a roll i have some more uu

Body Shop Shea Soap wmba it was ok but i like L'occitane soaps so have replaced with l'occitane Verbena.

I'm using L'Occitane Verbena soap at the mo. Don't keep it for too long before you use it though Lily cos it loses it's smell.

Yes, I really enjoyed the book and would like to re-read it. My daughter has just started her GCSE English Lit course and they are going to read it. I loved the ending. I ended up seeing the film first which is ok in it's own right as it's very moody and tense as Daniel Radcliffe is alone for most of it. I found the book a lot creepier though.

I've read Mrs De Wynter as well which I remember enjoying but Rebecca is a book that I adore so it can never beat that. Have actually just re-read Rebecca for the third time.

I have relented and started reading Fifty Shades of Grey only because a work colleague has lent it to me telling me I have to read it to be able to explain something to her! Not sure what this says about me then! It is very compulsive reading - very trashy but not the worst book that I've ever read.

Am on the look out for a book for my hols. Really want to read either the latest No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency book, Fallen by Karin Slaughter or the Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter one.

The only one of those I've read is Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, it was ok, but not amazing, not really my thing. I do seem to have a wide range of tastes in books. Moving on to a chick lit book now which was free in glamour some years ago I think, but only just come across it. Next I'll probably read the 2nd book of the millennium trilogy or the next game of Thrones book, unless I get bought some new ones.

    Hi All,

I'm afraid I've been a little (unintentionally) neglectful of the thread lately as just been completely non-stop with one thing and another. I hope everyone is reasonably well and has seen some sunshine over the last few days, hugs to those that need them.

I desperately need to declare IN etc to stop me completely going off the rails this month and will catch up with thread properly as soon as I can or before I know it we'll be onto August!:eek:

At the moment July UU are trailing the IN by one but I am determined not to make this my first month of the challenge that I've failed to reduce the overall stash so planning on knuckling down the last few days with NO SPEND whatever the offer (I must admit I have almost had my head turned by LIB Editors box - only briefly - and more seriously the 50% off code for TBS and the Bag of Joy mega-bargain). Here goes:

    UU:

Tesco B Natural face scrub - last of three tubes from original stash - WBA

TBS Strawberry Body Butter & Body Polish - these are GA/swap and the swapped IN will be makeup which I don't count as part of the stash as it is a lesser problem in most respects.... And I love it more somehow :o

Soap & Glory Clean on Me - was only a small 75ml so was quite a pleasure to UU, rather than the full size VLHJ that is the 500ml :rotfl:

balance Me face wash - I love this and bought two with the Glamour giveaway but seem to have a very slight reaction to it that builds up the more I use it - leaving my skin red and irritated. Really surprised considering how natural it is but there really seems to be no rhyme or reason what my skin will tolerate and what it won't. Experimented with using this every other day and found I was fine that was so will use the second tube in this manner. Such a shame as smells glorious.

    IN:

L'Oreal Elvive Full Restore 5 60 Second Saviour 200ml - really needed some conditioner of some description as down to only one choice which is Denise McAdam brunette conditioner which my hair was taking a firm dislike to, making it very flyaway and unhappy. So far, fingers crossed, the Elvive is a charm and on offer in Boots at the mo, something like a third off I think so pretty MSE at least.

Primark 4 in 1 gentle wipes - stayed at my sister's a couple of nights back kind of unexpectedly (comes from never being able to tie OH down to firm plans) so got this as a last min 'emergency' purchase - they will be used eventually in any case.

So last couple of purchases were fairly necessary. Its the REN order that's bumped up my IN this month but I remain entirely unrepentant!! :D
