I've had this problem with a couple of different mascaras lately, I think the weather is partly to blame!!

The Dainty Doll one I won on the Glamour giveaway did this, so I moved onto the Benefit Bad Gal Lash mini that came with last month's Glamour and its doing the same. :(

I like Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal which doesn't seem to do this but has a nice big brush like the Benefit one, I also really like No. 7 Exceptional Definition mascara which doesn't seem to bleed either. This is the first of their mascaras that I've rated, found others in the past 'flaky' but had this as a GWP in one of those little sets they do and was very impressed.

the weather prob is to blame now i think about it, its either hot and humid or chucking it down which isn't really going to mix with black mascara :rotfl:

I'm on the clinique high lengths one atm, the brush is really weird, you have to twist it in all kinds of directions to get it to go right into the corners of your eye and it just seems to give either waaaay to much mascara or hardly anything!

Willowbee - technically, you will be buying the mag - the freebies just happen to come with the mag. Nothing you can do about that! So really, no beauty purchase:D Is this known as a 'loophole'???

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Marvellous thinking, Scrappie! I like your style :D

(Does that mean that I'm going for a no spend month though??)

does anyone here get really bad panda eyes within hours of putting on mascara? I've been using up some clinique GWP mascaras and both have been horrific. debating wether or not to just give up on this mini and chuck it.

    first UU of the month!

Elemis body oil - WNBA, got this mini bottle in one of the xmas gift sets. it smells divine but i think its vastly overpriced for what it does!

thanks! if they had the powder i wanted in stock my fall from grace would have been much worse! :rotfl: i was eyeing up a foundation but i wasn't sure if they were cheap because they were end of line and about to be updated or if they are all being phased out in favour of skin base so i didn't buy.

I used to love Clinique mascara, but I have thrown several gwp's away, I think it has been made worse by the extended hayfever season this year March to present for me! I bought a No 7 waterproof one, and it works well. Some time back, the owner of the beauty salon I used told me I should allow much more time between using moisturiser and applying mascara, it did help, but I am not very organised these days:rotfl:

I am going for a qualified no spend month, I am allowing necessary purchase of hand wash and face wipes, and a glamour magazine (not necessary but a treat), but hopefully no other make up, skin care, toiletries, hair care or hand care - written it down so can't go back now can I:D
Must try and resist the REN as I only allow myself a magazine just now and then, not every month:eek:

I only buy magazines occasionally as well. I think I'll buy Red as I like the magazine and I'm interested in trying REN. I'm tempted by the lip salve free with Glamour though...:rotfl:

Right. I'm copying Maddiemay and having a qualified No Spend Month. (I don't feel at all prepared for this! :rotfl:It's going to be summer sale month ). I don't think that there is anything that I need. I have my Advantage Points saved up for a treat if it all gets too much (:rotfl:). No make up ins. Maybe one copy of Glamour and one of Red. We'll see...

Edited to add - I think this is the perfect month for me to try a No Spend because of the sales (a real danger zone for me...) It's going to be tough *eeeek!* Still, I've done Days 1 & 2 ok!

Thank you for all the welcome messages! Is it ok to buy Red mag for the REN stuff or is it against the rules?
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Caterina - it's totally up to you! You kind of make your own rules up and it may vary from month to month :) Progress can be bumpy at first as you settle into the idea of not buying. It's also tempting to be super-strict at first but that might not be sustainable.

In moderation the magazine freebies can be a very :money: (money saving) way of trying things. Balance Me is one of my favourite brands so in one way it would make sense for me to 'stock up' via Glamour but the flip side is that I already have a Balance Me cleanser, moisturiser and eye cream on the go, so I don't really need it. I'm interested in trying the reformulated lip salve though, so I probably will buy that if I can :)

Thanks Willowbee. I love REN and would normally have the occasional splurge in Liberty's so it feels ok to get a few freebies for the price of a mag, and with the mag thrown in for good measure!

Blue Elephant and Catarina- I found it quite liberating to go through the stash. I found it better to know what I was up against, if you know what I mean? Plus it's quite a good way of organising and pacing yourself- you may find that you have 50 shower gels that have gone off or you're allergic to so you can pass them on or throw them out or repurpose them- so that would be 50 outs! You also may come across samples which are quicker and easier to use.

Not pressuring or anything- I don't post mine on here that often or really update it much, but it does help. :)
