Went out for a Christmas tree, came back with a new toilet seat (no xmas tree). Went for a toaster, came back with a computer. Went for a nosey up the High Street, ordered a car.

I'm usually one of two extremes - research everything to within an inch of its life before deciding which to buy, or the impulsive devil on my shoulder just makes me go spend immediately with no prior thought :D

I went into a shop on holiday to buy a drink and ended up with a new camera. We were in the middle of a queue for the cable car (in San Francisco) and only had a minute, was the fastest purchase I've ever made.

I nipped out one day and came back having spent 28k cash without telling my wife, I had bought a new car...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

My mother used to say "you can't keep buying new clothes, you have to do some ironing some time"!!

Went shopping with DH for an ironing board and came home with a flat screen TV and a Sky subscription.

Booked a last minute holiday for 2 - total £216. Got delayed at the airport, drank a few bottles of beer and then went into the duty free. Decided we needed a new camera (which we didn't) and bought one for £250 - £34 more than the cost of the holiday and we hadn't even left the country!

There's clearly something about prevaricating about the ironing ... !

I went to get the kids from school a few years ago and came back with a tiny kitten. I phoned DH at work and he went mad, then came home and saw her and said, "you'd better go and get it some toys and stuff then!". Got the kids to bed and she plonked herself on his lap :)

I'm glad you went back for the children!!

I went to visit friends in Bristol and came back with a house!

I was planning to move to Bristol anyway, but we didn't expect to sign a contract after one day of looking. It's a great house though, so it's all worked out :D

Also yesterday a trip to ASDA resulted in a new TV. I need to stop spending money...
