Does Debt Make You Feel Trapped?

Yep - I feel trapped too! The future looks bleak but it's my own fault for getting into this mess. It will be a slow progress but I will become DF, somehow. And this may sound selfish but it helps knowing I'm not the only one. This board has been a god-send! x"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." I feel very trapped too - but mainly because I'm not able to retrain in the career I'd like to because of the debt.0

Yes I feel trapped but the saddest thing is losing my 20's to debt. Still being 30 and debt free will be great.Barclaycard 3800

Its all about your state of mind whatever situation you're in-the actual numbers are just a symptom.
The woman who lives next door but one to me went bankrupt TWICE and you know what ? She didn't and doesn't give a !!!!!
I dont propose to go down that road myself but it did make me realise that no situation is worth worrying about it just makes things a whole lot worse.

Chin up yellow @ss man! Things could be worse.
You are doing GREAT! Cut yourself some slack and take a few deep breaths.

I agree about feeling trapped and I also feel frightened by the debt...and also always think...what else is going to go wrong?? It's a frustrating situation...

Ah, the middle-of-the-month blues! It always hits me abotu this time too as I have ALWAYS spent more than half of my 'spends' dosh by this point...
It is a marathon, definitely rather than a sprint this debt-free journey (and some days a walk from Lands End to John O'Groats!) but we are all getting there - SS, you've achieved so much already, and are truly inspirational to us all - it will get better again, and in the mean time there's always :beer:Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06
