Today's list:
- [strike]Retrieve ancient fixed-tine harrows from 166, take down road and attempt to harrow 156 fields with the demonstrator quad bike that turned up on trial yesterday (Mr Minx didn't actually mean to get it delivered, he was in the shop to return some filters, got chatting to the owner who he was at school with, and it had just come back in from the previous trial and wasn't booked out, so....)[/strike]
- [strike]Shovel all the lime plaster into bags and take to tip[/strike]
- [strike]Spray next door's top field for docks (did it 2 weeks ago, but have some regrowth from the good weather - I did the middle and bottom field yesterday and knackered my arm!)[/strike]
- [strike]Do a bit of work for market research agency[/strike] and Mr RPC
- Ironing - only half done, but I did have 4 baskets to get through!
- Another groundwork session with the pony - we are making good progress towards us both being happy about me getting back in the saddle

Hello, lovely to see you again!!
I'm not quite sure where this week has gone, but by Wednesday morning I'd got through enough work for it to be Friday. As a result, scores on the doors are pretty good.
Mr RPC: £186.00
Journalist #2: £64.00
Market research agency: £290.67
Total: £540.67:D
Good thing too, because the roofer called in with his quote and I'm going to need to write a very large cheque for the first third of it in about 10 days' time!
I am off into town to get my rattling heat shield screwed up again and have a well-deserved hot chocolate and slice of cake0 -

Thank you - do you think we've made the right decision with the fireplace??! Pete has gone very quiet...!
I can add about another £5 onto last week's figures, as I took on a 20-minute reformatting job for Large Agency on Saturday afternoon (this is where they've had a piece of work back from a typist that isn't up to standard - if the original typist isn't around to fix it, it gets sent to someone else to go over for 60% of the full rate).
Mr Minx is heading south for a funeral, so I have a couple of days on my own. So far I've got £13 off the home insurance renewal (plus £22 cashback hopefully) and bought travel insurance for our holiday in September for £21 for the two of us.
Next stop is weeding the veg beds before it rains.0 -
How is the ground work with the pony coming along? What does that actually mean?
I'm always amazed at how much you get done. You are very motivated and organized. :T
(notice I didn't even mention the ironing).:DOverprepare, then go with the flow.

I hope you can save the fireplace. It'll certainly look stunning! Good luck with it though. The structure of the wall is definitely problematic!CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420

Oh I love the fireplace...so much charm!
I hope your time to yourself has been productive and relaxing at the same time. I do enjoy a few days to myself ever once in awhile.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Not bad, thanksGround work means asking him to do stuff when I'm walking beside him rather than sitting on him. Because he's had stomach issues in the past, he and I have both got quite nervous about me getting on him, so now his stomach is 100% again, we're both building up our confidence. We've actually reached a stage where I think he would be absolutely fine if I just got on him, but I'm not quite there yet! (The issue is specifically with mounting - before we realised what was up with him, there were a couple of times where I put my foot in the stirrup to mount and once my weight transferred to it from the mounting block, i.e. when I still had one leg in the air over his back, he took off at a full gallop, bucking as he went. Luckily I never ended up with anything worse than mild concussion!)
Anyway, he is now so comfortable lining up at the mounting block that the other day he followed me up two fields (no headcollar on or anything) and parked himself at the mounting block in the correct position. Just to prove it wasn't a fluke, I asked him to circle away with me and do it again, and he promptly did. So hopefully in the next week or so I'll rediscover my big girl pants and actually get back on him - once I'm in the saddle I'm absolutely fine, he's as safe as houses, it's just I need a few dozen uneventful on-boardings behind me to start feeling comfortable again!I hope you can save the fireplace. Thanks both - we're crossing our fingers very hardThe time on my own was marginally less productive than I'd hoped, because I started watching Scandal (downloaded from Sky Box Sets) and spent the rest of Sunday watching the entire first season
Now on season 2, but Mr Minx is back so it's going a lot more slowly!
