The duck is still honking well, but was unfortunately honked a little too vigorously and split a seam - so the patient only requires a few stitches:eek: I hope you're prioritising this - don't want poor Jura with a honkless duck .
Hay collected and car dropped off, by the time we'd brought the hay home, unhitched the trailer from the L200, jumped into the Audi, driven back into town (because no way are we going to get a pick-up with Ifor Williams stock box on the back into the small Tesco car park on a Saturday!), had some lunch, visited mother-in-law, done the shopping and got home again, it was time to go and feed the horses.
Might try a bit of typing this evening, but I'm pretty tired after last night now.

Just popped in for a lurk, found the first diary I recognised and had to post because Ronnie has the same duck! :rotfl:
It has been very hardy, is still honking (in more ways than one!) and he adores it. We have to remember to put it away at night
great to hear all your news and to see everything moving in the right direction :j0 -

21,300 words typed so far today. Going to do a tiny bit of the last focus group while Mr Minx finishes watching Guardians of the Galaxy. NEL asked if I could two hours for her by Wednesday and I regretfully had to say I just didn't have time, so she's doing the 90-minute one and I'm doing the 30-minute one, with maybe some more to come from her at the end of the week.
Nice to be in demand

Hi Caz, our Ciaran (golden retriever) has a duck like that, a present from daughter in the Uk. Have spent time sewing up various toys - sometimes with the dog sitting wistfully at my foot waiting for his duck/ball/turkey/dinosaur to be ready. Once he very quietly even collected the unmended toy from its place on my sewing table!
PS love the name Jura, I spent a total of 3 hours on the island of Jura 2 years ago, to visit the Inner Hebrides was a dream come true.0 -

- Trundle around the fields with a wheelbarrow - got another load done this morning, bottom two-thirds of bottom field now clear. Reckon I have another two barrows from that field, two or three from the next one up and one each from the top two.

My hands feel like they're about to drop off - have typed approximately 42,500 words since Friday night. If only I could be that productive when writing my own words rather than someone else's! Starting on the office paperwork now.
Edit: All stray paperwork now in filing cabinet and the vacuum cleaner has been thrown around the ground floor, which is good enough for me to mark off 'clean the house'

The buildings insurance is due on 1st June, so I've spent the last half hour going through the MSE guide for getting the cheapest quote. The renewal came in at £182.60. The cheapest quote I got was from the same insurer with the rebuild cost set £40k higher, but otherwise identical, for £129.06. I've written down the quote reference and will be giving them a ring tomorrow!0

You're steaming through this working malarky Caz. Glad Jura's happy with her repair and I see you've managed to repair the rug too. I tried to repair little pony's lightweight - he'd ripped the belly strap right off whilst it was fastened, therefore taking both sides off. My repair didn't last the night (duct tape) - so I'm impressed! It was "only" £25 from D£rby h0use sale but even so I wanted it fixed! Will maybe try again.
Such a shame you had to turn NEL down but as you say, you're in demand which is the best part.Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)
Loan 1 £1787
Loan 2 £1683
Total £8601 Was £393020 -
Ah, duct tape never lasts more than a night for me, I have to get the needle and thread out
Straps are tough to do without a thimble though. Is the rug intact where the strap should go or is there a rip in it and the rug material is still attached to the strap? If the latter, you might be better off patching the holes (has anyone at the yard got an ancient rug you can cut some material out of?) and then reattaching the straps on top of that.
Still in my dressing gown, typing up 8 minutes for the agency. I was a bit disappointed at the length, and then I heard the audio - three people on speakerphone from the other side of the world, so I've got accents and a dodgy line to contend with!0
