    Quick two-day catch-up!

Yesterday - summary got typed, sent out 18 orders, didn't get much more of NEL's work done, did a few emails for Mr RPC, had the most amazing steak I have ever tasted for supper! A few years back an enterprising Caithness farmer imported straws of Japanese bull semen (let's see if that one gets past the MSE filter!!!!!) to inseminate a herd of Aberdeen Angus cows with the aim of producing Wagyu beef. The results are just starting to hit the plate and it is extraordinary. Even better, the restaurant is currently selling it at cost to see if there's demand, so for £24 I got about 9 ounces of best Caithness Wagyu sirloin steak and it just melted in my mouth.

Today - had to say, 'I honestly can't make out a word this chap is saying,' to the agency for the first time; I was thwarted by a combination of a strong African accent and a busy road. Bless them, they asked me if I'd like to have a go at another in the same series and found me a nice clear recording so I could get some practice in with the accent. Went to the post office, only seven orders today which was good in a way, because my stationery order hadn't arrived (finally turned up about 6pm) and I'd run out of address labels, so had to hand-write onto the jiffy bags. Then got my head down and finished the 71-minute interview, had a break to feed the horses and got cracking on the the last focus group - I'm 50 minutes into it out of 64 in total and have decided that after the hash I just made of typing 'extenuating circumstances', it's time to stop for the night. That's going to need very careful proofreading before I email it back tomorrow!

Tomorrow's already looking busy with a two-hour file from the agency (fortunately it's a summary rather than typing the whole lot out), but I shall try to get scores on the doors done on time, as they're looking quite healthy ;)

Hello £7,xxxs, hello 70% paid off and next week we'll hopefully have some dancing bananas for £20k paid off :D:D:D:D:D

Must dash, finished typing NEL's focus group over breakfast, am 40 minutes through the summary and have volunteered for some extra bank holiday work from the agency, but wasn't expecting 2 x 90 minute focus groups! At least it looks finance-related, so should be interesting :)

Typing scores on the doors for this week!

    Agency: £129.29
    Nice Elance Lady: £101.19
    Mr Regular Private Client: £41.20

    Total typing money: £271.68

Still a bit short of my ideal £350 a week, but really not bad :)

Ooh, guess who's the agency's transcriber of the week? That's an extra tenner on the invoice at the end of this month then :D And one of the journalist clients has just asked if I can do 90 minutes for her, 60 by tomorrow and 30 by Monday - yes, of course I can :D

Finished typing at quarter to one this morning - very happy journalist who has just sent me an email to tell me I'm amazing :) I do look a bit like this though:

    yawn.gif

I think I need a small bank holiday weekend list.

    • Type up 40-minute celeb interview for journalist (looking forward to this one!)
    • Type up 95-minute focus group for agency
    • Type up 90-minute focus group for agency
    • Collect 30 bales of hay
    • Take car to garage for them to investigate worrying metallic noise when reversing on full left lock
    • Do special eBay listing for nice customer who wants to buy all my remaining heart charms
    • Pack eBay orders ready for Tuesday
    • Go through office paperwork and transfer into suspension files in filing cabinet (managed to buy the right size first time, go me!)
    • Trundle around the fields with a wheelbarrow
    • Spray next door's docks and thistles if the wind stays down
    • Laundry
    • Ironing
    • Gardening (unlikely!)
    • Repair Jura's honky duck
    • Repair Finn's winter rug
    • Clean the house
I'm sure there's more, but that's quite enough to be starting off with!

 I hope you're prioritising this - don't want poor Jura with a honkless duck .
