30-minute summary transcription for the agency, 22-minute interview for one of the journalists, 7 orders to post (at the moment) and a rug to stitch up again. Think I'm going to paint the back of it with diluted hot chilli sauce, as the reason the repair keep re-ripping is that Merlin keeps sinking his teeth into the top of the tail flap and pulling!

    Not too busy then :D

I always used to find chilli sauce never worked, the only thing had any luck with his hoof oil, the solid stuff is best, the rug will never be 100% clean again and you may have a pony with a slightly brown face for a few days but it will put them off tail flap chewing for life :D

Thanks :) Will see if I can borrow some off one of my showing friends.

I'm still typing my little hands off. In the past two days I've done a 95-ininute summary with quotes, two summaries totalling 42 minutes, three files for a journalist totalling just under an hour and am an hour into an 82-minute file for NEL. On top of that I've been doing stuff for Mr RPC and sending out my eBay orders.

YNAB is looking fairly healthy with all business costs apart from the Royal Mail bill (which I haven't had in yet) budgeted for. Personal budget-wise I'm not quite there yet, but I sent out all my invoices yesterday, so hopefully the £600-odd from the agency and NEL will land fairly fast and the journalist I was working for today is the one who pays immediately.

I didn't update about my car, did I? It was the brakes - big time! When I went to collect it on Saturday, they'd kept one of the brake discs to show me. There wasn't much of the original surface left, it had either worn away, corroded or was covered in rust! No wonder they felt a bit lumpy... Anyway, they told me they hadn't got round to making up the bill, so they said take it away, drive it, make sure you're happy with it and then come back and pay us next week. It's going to be around £250 I think - four new discs at £28 each, plus I think pads on the front and three hours of labour plus VAT.

£220.78 for three days of typing! Giving my hands a break tonight (I have slightly sore wrists from too much working on the laptop - bad Minx) and have turned down a job (shock horror) to go out with friends for a curry instead.

The job I turned down last night was happy for me to do it this morning, so I've had a 27-minute interview first thing and then a 95-minute summary and quotes for the rest of the day and just under 30 minutes for Mr RPC, all contributing to an extra £74.90 on the typing total. It's now up to £295.68, or possibly a bit more because I'm not sure what rate the agency pays for multi-speaker summary and quotes with speaker ID!

Forthcoming work for the next seven days includes three hours of interviews from NEL and an hour of media work from the agency - this is paid at a higher rate so is something I'm keen to get into. It's an hour of files, but needs timecoding with an offset and goes on a special template, so will probably take me a while to figure out.

The 'stash a fiver' fund has now hit £150 in total after three very nice people all paid me today, so £50 has been moved to a brand spanking new Ratesetter account. Hello retirement fund!

These Fridays are coming round awfully quickly, aren't they? Scores aren't as impressive as last week, but I've got £334 in YNAB for eBay fees now - if those hadn't been due, I'd have been in the sixes!

    Business

    Barclaycard: £2,560.00 / -£2,410.00 +£150.00

    Personal
    Halifax card: -£4,810.00 / -£4,810.00 no change

    Grand total:7,370.00 / -£7,220.00 +£150.00

Busy day today, I have a 53 minute interview for the agency (20 minutes done before breakfast!) and a documentation review to finish for Mr RPC. I started on the media work last night and sent the first few pages in for them to check I was doing it right, which I am with one minor tweak :)

Well, the flight times from Inverness are rotten and the flights from Wick, even with a discount card, are £300+, so it looks like I'm compromising and going on the train. I can save £30 by coming back on the sleeper on Monday night (over a cheaper ticket the next day plus hotel room), but that means I wouldn't get to go and meet everyone at the agency in the morning and have a potter round the shops - and it's years and years since I got to soak up a bit of London :)

Goodness me. I have only been away a week and you're almost there!!! Well that's how it feels reading your diary. Debt freedom is flying round, as are your fingers from typing it seems! You are doing fabulously - well done.

I didn't answer re pony's rug, missed your reply somehow. He's ripped the strap and taken the rug with it so there's a gap where it should be which would need new material to patch it as you say. He's nakes for the moment and his emergency one is there if we need it so I shall investigate....I may have an old one myself that's far too small for him.

When you are DF, are you going to keep going at the speed you are?
