Well, several weeks on and the Communications Ombudsman have called me to say tough luck, and that Primus can do as they please with regards to hiking their prices up, because "it's in the terms and conditions."

I asked the lady I was speaking to if she'd read these hallowed T&Cs. "No," came her response, "but I'm sure they have covered themselves in them."

Er, unless I'm missing something, Primus' terms state:
Should an increase in the prices and/or change in the terms and conditions put the Customer at a significant disadvantage, then Primus will notify the Customer in writing and the Customer has a right to immediately terminate the Agreement.

I put this to her, and she said it was up to them - not me as the customer - to judge whether I was "at a significant disadvantage."

And a 13% isn't classed as significant? Wonder where the tipping point is?

Fair dinkum, they have only charged me £6.28p this month even though the bill included a full month caller display, they have obviously responded to my emails and credited back like they promised.

Worst company ever. Not worth the saving.

    Avoid them!
  • Hi - Can someone explain to me the process for terminating my Primus Line Rental and moving it somewhere else keeping my existing telephone number. It has this thing about giving 30 days written notice. So do they cut you off after the 30 days or everything carries on like normal until the new line rental company you've instructed after the 30 days takes it over. What counts as proof you've terminated them.
