Don't bet on it. My parents knew nothing about university (dad a postman); when I proudly explained that I'd got a 2:1, his response was "You mean you came second?"0 -

Maybe they will think I have not done well, but I think they will think the same as me.
I still think it is a huge achievement to have got to a good university and to be able to have stuck at it. Even if other people see no value in it, I see it has a huge achievement personally.:beer:0 -

Besides if I'm addicted, it's clearly not my fault - there was no Government health warning
Careful there, you're starting to sound like Phil0 -
Why should my parents think I am a failure with a 2:2 when I have battled near death at birth, problems at school, but yet still got to university and have so far managed to pass (with good marks in some modules too)?:beer:0

Phil, I'm sure your parents will be fine as long as you never leave home, never get a girlfriend, never learn to stand on your own two feet or take responsibility for yourself.
I'm amazed you get to uni with all that cotton wool wrapped round you.:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:AThinks Naughty Things Too Much Clique Member No 3, 4 & 5

Phil, you said:
you were getting lower marks than you should have been
this was because of your problems
your parents know nothing of your problems
so by this reasoning, your parents will think your lower than expected (lower than you expected) marks are either a result of lack of intelligence or lack of effort.
By the way, loads of people battle with near death at birth, and loads of people battle with near death at other times in their lives, and lots of people battle with near death while they are studying. And lots of people have problems at school.
I did feel a bit of pity for you before, but now you seem to be convinced that you've fought the battle of a lifetime and come through shining... if you only knew some of the stories of people I know.0 -

Maybe there is no achievement in that I come a long way and come through a lot (not the world's worst problems I know) but I have come a lot further than I could have have expected when I was younger.
I admit I made a bad choice of degree and I have caused my own problems because of that. If I had of known that I would have found writing and reading such a huge problem then I would have picked a course with a much more practical element and I would have saved myself all this.:beer:0 -
