We brought the cheaper version from Lidl it was £11.49 for 70CL, I put it in the old Jack Daniels bottle and the wife never noticed any differnce, and i saved a fortune
I did try the experiment with coke for a while, buying the store version and putting a coke label around and changing the cap. OH did not notice but guilt got the better of me and I confessed in the end.
I drink own lable value sparkling water (ice and a slice) and get through between 7 and 10 two litre bottles a week depending say £1.70 worth, 17p a bottle. I am very cheap to keep.
OH drinks 2l bottles of coke zero or Pepis max or similar which at best is £1 a bottle. He also insists on only having Heinz salad cream, Warburtons bread because of the waxed wrappers, branded cereals etc.

I know I spent the day self flagulating never goodDont call yourself stupid because in doing so you are also calling me stupid!!!
Someone, somewhere found my coupon collection including about 5 of each of Huggies Little Swimmers, Huggies Wipes, Kleenex, Wench, Fajita kits bonus points, free costa coffee vouchers and a few juicy wombles
I just hope they were found by a grateful MSE type person who made use of them and that they weren't binned by anyone with more money than sense
Thats quite a haul
Thanks Laura and Thanks all. Im calmer today all relevant parties informed. Hoping some Mse did get it or at least someone in need, sitting in Mcds with their new book, drinking free coffee and maybe getting the bus for free cause the drivers never look at it ! Its made me look at me being fortunate, if this had happened last year I would have been in trouble. Now getting ready for my hols. I'll see you all when I get back. Hope you all have a mega glitch, hope all the extended family and baby MSers are well.
Love to all0 -

I get the feeling you have posted these pearls of wisdom before and it hasn't gone down well. I didn't take it badly, I just don't get the etiquette on here sometimes. If I remember correctly you were using coupons wrong by using 2 for (I think) Old El Paso in one transaction which was against the T&Cs yet Asda allow more than 1 APG and I'm going to ruin it for everyone but not having enough thought?
Its not about what is against T&C's to be honest, its about what gets noticed and then subsequently talked about between staff. If using 2 or 3 instead of 1 coupon goes on time and time again as it always has then so be it, it doesn't rile the staff and doesn't get on managers radars either. By using 10 or 20, that scenario might change.
Nobody ever gets it, but IMO if more people actually NEEDED to go wombling or use coupons to make ends meet then they may act differently.
And yep you are right, whenever I make such remarks I just get accused of being grumpy or the like.0 -

I've got cat pictures scattered all over the computer and laptop etc so I cam going to upload them to photobucket to a seperate album so I can keep them together. We have 3 (at the moment!) all very photogenic, all rescue cat - or rather one is the other two just moved in on us.
In all we have had 5 cats, 2 died sadly, all cats that adapted us apart from one we adopted.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. worry-wart wrote: »^^ This what I was getting at. If they have the receipt (and the only time I've seen them marked is when they're giving them back to me) then they can easily go back to the APG site, re-enter the info and Bob's yer Uncle. The Tesco price check is open to abuse by customers but the APG one is open to abuse by staff. Seems neither company can win.
I get what you're saying but it's hard to guage on here what is acceptable and what isn't. Many use more than one Tesco price check per transaction when it's not allowed. Many use multiple identical vouchers in one transaction (thinking back to the MAM stuff) which isn't allowed. Clearing the shelves of bargains is ok if you post on here but not if you lurk. Selling stuff you glitch at a car boot is ok if you post and don't lurk. It's hard to know where to draw the line so in future I'll keep things like this to myselfI was actually working on what I was hoping was a glitch in Asda but I'm not confident about posting it now.

Well said!
What I personally don't like is when someone constantly asks questions on here but never gives anything back. I don't mind lurkers lurking and I don't mind regulars asking the odd question when they need our help.
I'll probably get slated for this but hey ho....
.....you raise a very good point re: car boot sales. If a newbie posted that they had taken advantage of all the bargains on here and then mentioned that they made a nice amount of cash at the car boot, it wouldn't go down too well. But if a regular posts about their bargains and then goes to a car boot then no-one raises an eyebrow.
I personally will never sell any 1p/glitched/cheap items due to coupons at a car boot sale. I will always guesstimate the amount that I will need which includes items that I know family, friends and neighbours will appreciate to receive. Yes, I know that I have bought some items towards the 100 mark, but I have always used these items myself and in the majority of cases, I have given the items to other people free of charge or given them to the Ghanaian children.
I, personally, would feel a bit guilty if I had stashed items/hauls that were building up resulting in a trip to the car boot sale. Firstly, this would be because I will have deprived other regular MSErs and lurkers from obtaining a true bargain. Secondly, I wouldn't feel happy from the profit, mainly due to the first reason above.
Please, please, please remember that this is only what I think. I don't hold grudges for people that do the above. I realise that other people have no problems and wouldn't feel guilty doing this, which is fine by me.
We are all different.
A world full of karlie88s would be boring. We all need a bit of Miss Laid, Best price, FK, queen of cheap, LTF, QPR, lookingforabragain, tigerwhite, lala, purdita, HC84, Enterprise, emmlouie, Laura Cello, F_C, Tiny, woopsiequeen, izzeyb, streetlights, snap, issyc, wackynut, midwinter, bananababe, mad, FQ, meerkatsmimm, Rooted Nomad, dreamerbea, westie, rhosynbach, michjay, tweets, freddie flyers, worry-wart, mhoc, locarr, neosi, ellzx, calmspirit, chanderscorft, floflo, aau, nerfdad, JJ, call of trouty, motherbear, cattysmum, celebrate, 3Dogs.........
....and the hundreds of other regulars plus the other few thousand lurkers.
Now tell us what that glitch at Asda is.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

Morning all,
Had a lovely although rather windy afternoon at Hunstanton yesterday so only just caught up. Thought a nice walk might encourage baby to make an appearance. Had a few niggles since so who knows. Will probably be still sat here in a fortnight complaining i'm overdue though
DS in a funny mood this morning and routine all out of sync after late nights for Sis's wedding and then falling asleep on way home in car yesterday. Afraid to say have resorted to Postman Pat as a babysitter
Can't face T's with him today so will head out for whoopsie run once OH home and DS tucked up in bed.
Does anyone know if the Rose Bordeaux was reduced in Metros? Managed to get the last two at my local superstore the other day but saw a shelf full in the next town's Metro with no SEL. Didn't have time to check at the time but not sure whether it's worth a trip tmw while DS at nursery♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0 -

Its not about what is or isn't allowed or not! Its about perceptions.
The staff either see you as a savvy shopper which is good or a pee taker which is not so good. Same with the bean counters and managers. They don't really care if you redeem one or two vouchers, but if you start using armfulls of them then things are viewed differently.
You seem to know an awful lot about the goings on around here by the way for someone who only joined this month. Care to tell us who you really are? (as if we can't make a decent educated guess anyway)0
