I have just about given up offering shoppers coupons/advice I get fed up of getting looked at like I have 2 heads0 -
Been offline for a while so cant catch up - has the 1pence- thread been removed as people were abusing it??
Hope you've all been having some good bargains.
I popped into M*n*head T's when away and found a single 1p bag of haribo easter sweets and not much else!!
Found a good way of saving money when at the pub with my little one - she likes soda water and ice = free!!! Better for her than other fizzy stuff too! I suppose if you were really tight then you could take a small bottle of squash with you and have fizzy orange etc for free!!!0 -

The staff either see you as a savvy shopper which is good or a pee taker which is not so good. Same with the bean counters and managers. They don't really care if you redeem one or two vouchers, but if you start using armfulls of them then things are viewed differently.
You seem to know an awful lot about the goings on around here by the way for someone who only joined this month. Care to tell us who you really are? (as if we can't make a decent educated guess anyway)
Everyones perecptions are different. One member of staff may applaud you for using loads of vouchers where the next one may scrutinise a solitary one. Same on here. One person may applaud you for what you've done where the next person my criticise
As for the goings on around here - well this thread is for public viewing isn't it so I know what goes on by reading bits & pieces. Why is everyone on here so paranoid? Someone whose name begins with C (something like celeriac) posted about PMs asking if he was other people. I've been around these forums long enough to be able to skim the fluff on here so I do miss some stuff. I decided to sign up as I was being selfish and needed some information on tax credits that I couldn't get otherwise. Having lurked on here and read many comments about how terrible lurkers were I was constantly put off joining in and now I know why.No one can make you feel inferior without your consent ~ Eleanor Roosevelt0 -

Perfect timing Thank You..need a new foundation :Ttigerwhite wrote: »Ooh, thanks for that Nikki. My Chanel foundation is coming towards the end and that's been discontinued too, I can't bo bothered trawling the shops to get another. I've had a blusher from the Barbara Daly range and that was really good - it's only in a tiny little tub. I like cream blushers instead of powder as they seem to have a bit more staying power. I'm going to buy one of the foundations this week
Glad I could help:T:T my fave is Dior but not anymore, although I cannot give up their eyeshadows just yet:o:o:oBeware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -

Well said!
What I personally don't like is when someone constantly asks questions on here but never gives anything back. I don't mind lurkers lurking and I don't mind regulars asking the odd question when they need our help.
I'll probably get slated for this but hey ho....
.....you raise a very good point re: car boot sales. If a newbie posted that they had taken advantage of all the bargains on here and then mentioned that they made a nice amount of cash at the car boot, it wouldn't go down too well. But if a regular posts about their bargains and then goes to a car boot then no-one raises an eyebrow.
I personally will never sell any 1p/glitched/cheap items due to coupons at a car boot sale. I will always guesstimate the amount that I will need which includes items that I know family, friends and neighbours will appreciate to receive. Yes, I know that I have bought some items towards the 100 mark, but I have always used these items myself and in the majority of cases, I have given the items to other people free of charge or given them to the Ghanaian children.
I, personally, would feel a bit guilty if I had stashed items/hauls that were building up resulting in a trip to the car boot sale. Firstly, this would be because I will have deprived other regular MSErs and lurkers from obtaining a true bargain. Secondly, I wouldn't feel happy from the profit, mainly due to the first reason above.
Please, please, please remember that this is only what I think. I don't hold grudges for people that do the above. I realise that other people have no problems and wouldn't feel guilty doing this, which is fine by me.
We are all different.
A world full of karlie88s would be boring. We all need a bit of Miss Laid, Best price, FK, queen of cheap, LTF, QPR, lookingforabragain, tigerwhite, lala, purdita, HC84, Enterprise, emmlouie, Laura Cello, F_C, Tiny, woopsiequeen, izzeyb, streetlights, snap, issyc, wackynut, midwinter, bananababe, mad, FQ, meerkatsmimm, Rooted Nomad, dreamerbea, westie, rhosynbach, michjay, tweets, freddie flyers, worry-wart, mhoc, locarr, neosi, ellzx, calmspirit, chanderscorft, floflo, aau, nerfdad, JJ, call of trouty, motherbear, cattysmum, celebrate, 3Dogs.........
....and the hundreds of other regulars plus the other few thousand lurkers.
Now tell us what that glitch at Asda is.
I've only had a couple of glitches namely the pizza/ice cream one some of the cheap 1p items. I've read about the other ones but my local wasn't working for some of the glitches or by the time I'd finished work they'd been fixed. I don't have the time or energy to do car boots or ebay but I have raised my eyebros at what some people have posted. Each t otheir own hence I won't mention anything specific but I thought what I was doing was to be applauded.
As for the glitch, I can't get my head around it and I don't want slated for posting wrong information. Every day I try it the results change and the results from yesterday suggest either it's over or the APG thing is broken. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent ~ Eleanor Roosevelt0 -

It's a good feeling when they do appreciate it though. I recall after xmas when tesco were selling their own brand farm sets and garage sets cheaply. This elderly couple were looking for a pressie for their grandson who was coming to stay and clearly didnt have lots to spend. I apologised profusely for sticking my nose in but suggested the garage set as it was actually a quarter of the market price. They were over the moon and couldnt thank me enough. Gives you a nice warm glow.0 -
I got asked "give an example of a mistake you have made at work and what you learnt from it". I hadn't considered that coming up but luckily i can think on my toes
I told them about a deadline i missed and that i now religiously use a calendar to plan my day/week, ticking of tasks as i go. Recurring tasks are pre-populated in my calendar for the full year ahead
The only recurring task not in my diary is the 8pm whoopsie run but i don't need a reminder for that
OMG I use that question, was it me that interviewed you??????:eek:0 -

Its the older folks that I find are more open to savings, one old lady had the celebrations and thornton chocs in her trolley at Xmas I assumed that she had the coupons, but she didnt so I gave her a few she was so happy0
