11 May - Struggling to study again, partly because of the heat & partly because of those noisy people who live at the back of me. They were out in the garden & playing loud music until 1am this morning, & had the music back on by 11am today. I had to keep my windows closed most of yesterday to keep them out, & I could still hear them. Today's no better, & I'm so tired - I can't even ring the Noise Nuisance team about it, as they don't start until 6pm today. Why are people so selfish? I've got to swelter inside unless I'm prepared to put up with their carry-on. God knows what time they'll stop tonight. I swear, if I win the lottery, stuff the OR & his wants - I'm going to move myself into a hotel until I can find a detached home to buy with a bit of land around it to keep these noisy individuals at bay. I'm so cheesed off.

Oh wdiag if only we could all win the lottery. I live nxt to a school which is in a cul-de sac. When we finished work late(2.30am-3pm) we had to go somewhere else until we could park and when they have do's on it's hell as well so the first thing i would do,like you is buy a detatched property. Feel for you i really do.DX

I try to see a positive in every negative. The only positive I can see with this situation is that knowing they annoy me so much will give me more incentive to work harder on my music & my poetry. They show no consideration for other people at all. It would be wonderful if I made enough money from that to move away from these horrible people. I've had some literature on self-builds for ages, & I think I'd even go that route if it meant having no neighbours for at least 100ft either side of me. :)

I went out for a long walk late this afternoon & thankfully the music was off by the time I got back. Here's hoping it stays off for the rest of the night. :)

3 June - It feels like I haven't done my diary in ages, but it's been really busy at work, plus I haven't feel very well some days. I've had to send off a THIRD copy of my IPAQ as they've said they haven't received it - like I'm really going to want to hold onto it when I'd rather not have to do it at all. ;) Here's hoping the copy I posted today gets to them - I just want my finances reassessed & this stage over with.

On the plus side, I made myself stay at work tonight & I finished my next OU assignment. :j It had to be in for 5pm Wednesday - I e-mailed it tonight & got a receipt for it. I'm glad it's out of the way at long last. I always manage to leave it until just hours before the deadline, & I've got to stop doing that. My OU tutor said it's not that I can't do the work, it's that I don't have enough confidence in my ability to do it. She could well be right - once I sat down to do it, I had all 3 parts typed, spell-checked, everything within the word limits & the documents properly formatted within 4 hours. If I can do it hours before the deadline, there's very little excuse for not doing it days ago without the pressure of the deadline to deal with. Maybe I'm just one of those people who needs that extra pressure on me to get things done. :)

7 June - Got my mark today for my OU assignment. 97%!! :j :j :j I can't believe it - I did well on the last one, but I didn't expect anything more than a "better than average" sort of mark this time as I'd left it so late to send it in. I'm so shocked at my mark - I've got another assignment & a project to hand in by 11 July at the absolute latest, so if I keep going as I have been, I'll get a distinction (insert 'happy bunny' smilie here). I feel really encouraged by my marks - it's nice to be able to do something & actually have someone understand my mental meanderings. My tutor is very pleased too, probably because I don't ring her asking for help. :D I've got about 30 pages to read & at least 15 exercises to do before Monday's tutorial, so I'd better get my head into it this evening. :)

    Excellent. Keep it up.:T
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

Thanks to all three of you. :) It's really strange doing well at something that actually uses my brain. My job hasn't taxed my intelligence to any great extent for years, so it's nice to have to think harder than usual for a change, & having confirmation that my brain is in full working order is an added bonus. :D
