  • hi everyone

What seems to be a longtime ago I was one of you for a while, but I became very ill and wasn't able to carry on. However, I am recovering and and have been lurking for a while; so I would like to return to the fold if I may if you will have me. however Ithink it maybe only level 1 until my guag returns.

Here's my update for the week(end!). I've got most of the lists done, as far as I remember anyway. Got a few shelves cleared/organised too. Got up this morning and re-blacked the mantlepiece, I really wish it wasn't metal esp as the isn't an open fire anymore. OH did some tidying of his stuff yest.

I would love to be able to follow the lists each day, the current format means that by the time I am home for the weekend I am raring to go! Due to illness, both mine and OH, I prob won't be able to complete the lists at the weekend. Am I best to focus on lvl 1? I'm worried that if I do that, the carp that OH still hasn't sorted from when we moved in will never get done

I think I might be overthinking all of this a little...

LW, he's a cockapoo (cocker spaniel poodle cross). Rather unfortunate name! He's an absolute treasure. Had dogs as a child and had forgotten how quickly they get a hold of your heart. For 6 months old he's usually extremely good. I miss my walks with him at the moment but I'm getting plenty of cuddles. On the couch he's not allowed on;)

I have been praised for my work on the dining room by DD who has won the campaign for new paper on all walls in there - we've one bare one (new) and anaglypta on the other 3. She is going to strip the wall:D Dining room hasn't been repainted since the mass decorating blitz of 2005:eek: living room needs repapering (also last done in '05 when I was unemployed for a few months) but the kitten is taking the stripping of this wall on, apparently :rotfl: but doing a rotten job. Hall stairs and landing also needs painting (yup - '05) and kitchen. When I get round to picking a colour...
I also need to source varnish for a door and skirting (as all downstairs wood is varnished).

I feel quite ill at the thought, now. That's my supply money spent. *Closes Clarks tab featuring sale shoes and sighs, deeply*

Dragonette level one's the way to go. The carp sorting could be done in spare time - you'll find you (a) add more jobs in and (b) get quicker once you have a system.

dragonette - remember you don't have to follow the lists if you want to do something of your own. Maybe do Level One and then pick one or two things from the other levels or a job of your own that needs doing? Whatever works for you.

bonnie - seems we have our 10th; well done! Your posts do make me smile :D

LW - I am going to send some ratties round to chastise you for doing the grass :p Please rest!

nicki - don't worry if you can't get everything done at the moment; you need to take care and rest with all the extra support you're giving DD at the moment

I have just bought some Paralympic tickets :jStill hoping something will become available for the Olympic Athletics. I have my football ticket though :D

Washing dried outside today and I have made a yummy dinner with enough left for tomorrow night. Lunch ready for tomorrow too. Reports being slowly written :o and little other flying done :o Good job there's little in the way of houses for sale round here at the moment as mine is still not ready for viewing :o

    Another one de-lurking!

I've been a lurker (on and off) for at least a couple of years but never plucked up the courage to actually post until now. I'm hoping that joining in will give me the kick up the backside I need to get back on track - I usually do quite well at following the lists for a couple of weeks and then the motivation fizzles out. I'm temporarily working a 5 day week after 8+ years of being part-time/SAHM and my house is suffering but without the lists it would be a complete disaster zone!

I'll try and join in from tomorrow when I get chance if that's ok.

dragonette every small thing you do is a step in the right direction. Focus on level 1, and keep the area you have cleaned/cleared/decluttered in the same state. This is the key to building up your flying, which you can do when you are ready. There are no time limits here. My house is FAR from perfect, but I have, with flylady help, kept small areas clear and clean, eg coffee table, sink, downstairs loo, and landing. I've even found a love for cleaning windows and ironing :rotfl: which is something I'd never thought I'd say :o

valli I'm starting with kitchen type things, which I've bought over the last year or so when there's a good deal available. I also have a stash of toiletries on BOGOF type deals which he can have. My mum is also on the case, and my dad, bless him, is good at writing cheques as anything even vaguely related to education he has always offered to pay for. I love my Dad. Not for the money but for his unquestioning support, throughout my topsy-turvey life, child and adult  But I digress. DS won't be far away, either in London (hopefully - he needs A*AA) or Brighton ('only' AAB). He has my Dad's brain, another thing I am very thankful for. I think there are other flyladies whose offspring are off to uni this year?? Anyone coming to Kent, Surrey or London I can give advice, if required.

Mrs B welcome :T:j This is a very friendly thread and I don't think you will need too much courage to continue posting :p I also have "issues with motivation fizzle out" and can frequently be found requesting a kick up the backside. Good luck xx

Thanks Bonnie, I think I find it all too much after working away sun-fri and OH hasn't done a damn thing round the place (his new meds are making eating a struggle). My first step was the kitchen, after the first week I got bk to find every surface covered in recycling and dirty dishes. I burst into tears n sent a pic to my mum who came o the rescue. I just find the clutter n mess n dust (and who knows what behind it) so depressing.

Mrs Bea, I only registered to post as this thread seemed so friendly. And I totally sympathise with the chaos a sudden increase in hours makes! Its so difficult to get in a routine when things like that change.
