  • Ugh, Piggers. Just ugh.

I had a successful gig on Friday night, but there's always the fall back to earth afterwards.

Nothing useful, more my whinging than anything else, but I just got a bit fed up of being surrounded by happy families with cute little children when out, on my own, of course, and then coming back, watching telly and being overloaded with TV adverts with mums and babies and kids all over the place. Everything's always about families, isn't it?

So feeling thoroughly sorry for myself, basically.

    Bah.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Another lurker poking her head above the parapet *Hi all* I've been lurking for a few weeks and haven't really been able to follow the lists daily as I'm working away from home atm, though I have been trying to catch up at weekends. Actually this thread is what persuaded me to register n stop lurking!
Today I've done most of this week's lists, and am totally knackered. Ah well, I'm sure the cat will mess it up by morning!

well I have a spotless kitchen - and as I have bought 4 new denby mugs (at 25% off in deb's sale) DD (aka Little Miss Clearout) has decided which mugs will be rehomed. (Staffroom at work).
Have refunded excess postage charges to 2 ebay buyers - 1 because I went to large Letter and I charged for parcel and one because I put two items in one parcel but buyer didn't wait for combined invoice.
Have been to party in Steel City and have never eaten such posh party food (not a sausage roll/scotch egg/pork pie/crisp in sight) couscous - halloumi - salads - lemon posset - tiramisu - chilli - 2 joints - pork and gammon not t'other sort :rotfl: - wow!! (and more than that...)

    Morning All

Sorry I haven't posted since the start of the week. Because I have been MIA for a few weeks, I have only been on here to grab the list and skim read and thank posts so I didn't get distracted from the FLYing.

And the result....... tidier than normal :j:j:j

There's a long way to go, nowhere near where we need to be but it's getting there. So much so that DH had 2 hours on his own yesterday and managed to put down his IPAD and reaquaint himself with the hoover :D

All the ironing that was getting me down has gone and the de-weeding that needed to be done to allow some much needed building work has been achieved. :A

I haven't always followed the list as I had some big jobs that had to be done but now they are, I'm looking forward to following the list next week to start returning the house to what it should be.

Oh, and I finally worked out why I should declutter. I see that word so much but always thought that decluttering was just putting off the cleaning. Anyway, I went into my room during the week and though - if that stuff wasn't there, I could clean under there - then it hit me. The whole house is like than. If I sort the piles then the cleaning becomes easier.

It's all starting the fall into place.

Sorry for the ramble. Will post more frequently next week with updates to avoid such a long post!

Off to get ready to [STRIKE]walk[/STRIKE] run the Race for Life.

    Have a good day :)

    Morning all.

Jaybee, your post about kiddies finding dusty things made me laugh. I remember my DS bringing a new friend home years ago, and the lad asked why my house was so dusty. I took him home and he was never invited again, but I did employ a cleaner.

Any way, I was really brave yesterday and had my long hair cut into a short layered style. Shame I never got to wear the new clips I bought a couple of weeks ago. I really like the new style but this morning I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards. I'd forgotten that short styles need more maintenance and that I might have to actually wash my hair everyday. Gosh I sound really skanky now don't I?!!

I didn't do much flying yesterday, will try harder today.

    Have a good day everyone.

Too late! We can usually rescue them alive and unhurt, but not this poor thing. Sorry if tmo.

I love cats but not their killing instincts; he doesn't often go hunting, thank goodness.

Mine are sadly masters of the hunt, one has a passion for frogs, one rodents and one birds. They are bought in alive at least half of the time so operation 'get it back outside' is often in progress.

and the more time I spend in her company the more convinced I am she has an alcohol problem.

Same with my SiL and last time she visited I did think this is out of hand now and my kids find it very annoying to have someone drunk like that in the house.

Lists are only a starting point Claire so feel free to deviate as much as you like and yes the less clutter the quicker the cleaning for sure.

Dusty.. when we go home I am going to speak to OH about it because I don't want my children around drunk people.. I don't drink around them and I do not want them to be subject to it. I have a family with more than its share of alcoholics I do NOT need to expose the children to it when I do my best to keep them away from my family members in that state.. that said.. 1 is now dead, apparently unrelated to the alcohol, another is better with the incentive of his brothers death and wanting custody of the deceased brothers children.

I find it quite disturbing that someone would need to be in that state at that time of day.. then, I suppose I don't drink at home ever.. and rarely get in a state and definitely not when the children are about.

The ridiculous thing is she is supposed to be trying for a baby.. poor little thing wouldn't stand a chance.. I think she needs to see what alcohol in pregnancy actually leads to.. that along with illegal substances and smoking all sorts.. I am quite sad to think she might actually have a baby eventually.. and you know if there was something wrong with it it would be everyones fault but her own!

6 hours and we are off home... I CANNOT wait!!!

Morning all! A late start here, I actually slept 7 hours and woke refreshed - good for me.

Today - I'm going to do HHI (washing in first thing and tumbling now), hoover through, have an early lunch, and get a train to Derbyshire to join my OH, who is driving home after a couple of days away helping his folk. We will catch up with my bro on the way back, where I'm staying for a night, and our cat will be in heaven when OH gets home - loves him with a passion!

So good weekend vibes to all and catch up with the thread by Tues morning.

ETA Dustykitten! My brother's cat always brings in frogs (doesn't kill them) and deposits them in shoes or bags in the porch! They sometimes have to escort 5 or 6 at a time back to the pond!!
