The contactless card won't earn cashback according to the co-op's FAQs. Rather disappointing for those of us who have the members' credit card, sigh!

Really? Where does it say that? That would be very disappointing if true :(

Doesn't that refer to cashback at the checkout ? (source FAQs)

Yes, you are right; I made a mistake - apologies. On second reading, the cashback does refer to cashback at the till, not cashback on the members' credit card.

Co-op contactless card not working i.e. have to input PIN. Co-op says that their processor, first data, is having problems processing contactless cards and that resolving it could take a week or so. Anyone else experienced or heard the same?

Had this myself with McDonalds. The reader said "Contactless" on the top, so I said "Pay by contactless?" and got the response "Yes we do, insert your card into the reader, confirm the amount and enter your PIN.", at which point I gave up and did as she said. Never managed to pay anything by contactless yet.

    That's what makes McDonalds... :rotfl:
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

In McDonalds you just have to say your paying by card and then the first light will light up and your ready to put the card over it.

Last time I did that I got a stare like how a cow looks looks at an oncoming train, and then they said "err, you need to insert your card into the reader".

I think they might need more training.

Called the Co-Op Bank and they are now saying problems with their contactless cards won't be resolved until at least this Friday!
