Which pastry are you looking for? I'll keep a look out for offers :D
I decided to buy some of the mincemeat this year,I've always made my own but the price of dried fruit at the moment makes it quite pricey(thats without the booze!) so I'd rather keep what I have stored for cakes etc.Makes sound financial sense to me!

Ready rolled puff pastry. I am a useless baker, but a 2 year old can make mince meat puffs when everything has been practically done for you. :j

I also don't bake as I think sometimes it is more expensive than buying a cake or pie.
My local Morrisons reduces all is fresh bake stuff just as I leave work. I know I couldn't burn my own cheaper than they sell off theirs.:rotfl:

I agree for 20 or 30p you couldn't make the mincemeat and it's easy to make it a bit more special by adding some chopped apple or whatever takes your fancy.

Nouvelle Soft toilet roll are £1 for 4 in Morrisons at the moment. Just got 5 packs.
They look slightly smaller than usual. On the pack is does say they have a smaller inner tube. On comparing them to Andrex this does seem to be the case.

Own my own I looked today in Sainsb's and although the pastry was on offer it wasn't very cheap! I usually grab a few packs when Tesc*s have theirs on offer last time it was 2 for £2 if memory serves.
Did pick up a 'few' more 10p mixes after my mums disaster with the coronation chicken I played safe and only bought ones I'd used before Colemans chicken curry, chip shop curry sauce (OH likes it),some peppercorn mixes, cheese sauces they had quite a few in my store :D

I usually compare the number of sheets on a roll - the value rolls are usually very loosely wound to make it look like there's more on them, but there isn't and they are usually poor value for money.

Unfortunately we don't have a Morrisons, but that sounds like good value.

    Brandy .....:D
  • own my own thanks very much for the post. Yours is a better deal than I got. I bought loads of the Cushelle which was my favourite ever toilet roll, for £4.99 @ Morrisons for 16 rolls, guess what, i did a toilet roll test (i know im so sad), between Cushelle and Nicky 3ply @ 18 rolls for £4, and the Nicky won hands down, might just get a Nouvelle to try thou, but would highly recommend Nicky.
