Alex I apologize that I've followed it off-subject. It seems a certain person has done this 5 times now.

It's a pity that you and the company have not been able to agree about this. In the circumstances your decision to return it seems your only option; I hope that they will satisfy you in clearing up the remaining details; did they agree with you to let you return it, or is even this a point of dispute? And are you still within the 14 day return period or is it already more protracted? If longer I'm worried it could cause you more grief.

I did have issues with them myself, but it was sorted out OK, though there was a time I was under-confident. The phone came straight away, but with the wrong number on the box (probably an Orange issue), but that was sorted. Free accessories missing came straight away when I phoned. Then when I wanted to cancel the continuation of 3 months free insurance and maintenance, I discovered one DD had been charged early by Citymain. OSPS said it was not their problem; I said they were agents. Citymain told me to put my complaint in writing then sent me a refund cheque the very next day, before I'd written.

Also, there was quite a bit on here when they moved offices; I think it was their builders' fault that people couldn't get through on the phone rather than the instant cynicism that sprung up here.

    Thanks Andy

They agreed to take the phone back, although I've learned at my peril that what they say on the phone one day can change the next.

I have been careful not to activate the phone nor to open the box after I noticed the different terms and conditions (even though I was told on the phone new paperwork would follow and that I could start using the phone straightaway).

    hi
this may be not related to the topic but i have decided not to buy mobile from the internet
    i bought samsung d500 from e2save on orange(10/03/2005)

they sent me the phone with t-mobile contract?
i called them they said they didn't know what had happened so the salesman cancelled that order and reordered the phone on the orange contract(another credit check)

next day i received the phone and contract and gave the delivery man the other package.

    a week later i received a bill from T-mobile.
so i called e2save they said they have not received the phone back so they can't cancel thats why i have received the bill. what she was saying that i have kept the phone and just sent them the empty boxe and other things what came with it???
i explained all again she said someone will call me within 24 hours but no one did so i called again they were still looking into the matter i gave them a time limit for someone to call me when they did i had to go through all the detail again and he cancelled the t-mobile cotract and said the matter was resolved!!

he never said that they were in the wrong and no apology.

i only went on cotract for the phone i don't use the phone much
for the year after cashback it will cost me £285.

if i had waited about one week the phone was free from orange on £25 per month and after 6 months i could have gone on their lowest rental £15 per month total £240 or £300 if stayed on the £25 p/m.
and if there were any problems there is an orange shop in our town centre.

best to go direct or well recognised shops so when there is a problem you can talk to the real person face to face!

thats what i will be doing in future for mobile phone anyway....
Honesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site
    you are on!

if i had known then what i know now!

a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!

Thanks for the warning. Sorry if that didn't read as I intended: to suggest that these minor problems were easily and quickly resolved, and that some others have been over-hyped.

Alex, I think you were wise not to even open the box. It sounds like it will soon be ok. I hope that you can put this disappointment behind you faster than other people.

I wouldn't touch this lot with a barge pole. They have outsourced their sales team overseas and Mr Filigree is bombarded with unwanted cold calls despite telling them chapter and verse that by law they must take his number off their database (he's registered with TPS who don't seem to give a hoot but that's another rant).

Shoddy business practices before the potential customer even picks up the phone? They won't be getting my custom. I'll stick to shopping in the high street.

I think Crewe is in Cheshire. I just phoned to make sure. Are you sure you have the same company?
  • I am having the same problem, I ordered the phone on 23/03/2005 it got delivered on 30/03/2005, I have spoken to their customer service several times and been told at least twice you will be connected within 48 hours, I have spoken to Orange and the phone, sim or number isn't even registered with Orange. They keep saying they are having problems with there computer system and the person on CS has e-mailed the relevant person to get me connected. **DON'T TOUCH THESE WITH A BARGE POLE**

CRAP SERVICE, Even the CS guy has given up the ghost and says I understand your frustration bu their is nothing I can do.

Half the order was also missing that was on there website in the package you get with the phone.

just been to to e-mail aftersales@onestopmobileshop.co.uk **USELESS**

Did you use the phone itself to contact Orange? I assume so as that would be the way to register the connection.

If so then the problem is that the phone number is different from what you've been told, but it's working. That's what happened with me and it was soon resolved, by more contact between OSPS and Orange dealer support to find out the correct number.

If not, then the problem is more protracted and I don't know.

My case was different. I never put in the sim into the phone so it never got activated on Orange.

They still have not acknowledged me returning the phone irrespective of my emails.
