Thanks you two :D It's good to be back too!

Had a few emo11.gif and emo16.gif moments over the last few days, but think I'm just letting things get to me when I shouldn't. Plus the fact I've had the cold for almost 2 weeks. Had to give in - picking up antibiotics in about an hour :o

Money-wise I had been doing ok, until I spied a gorgeous coat on Saturday! :o
    A356P_SP230_04_3LU3Rf
(so yeah... ummmm.... I'm still looking for a coat for work....!)

Needed/wanted PJ bottoms for hanging about the house, so picked up a pair in Mr Ts today. The label said £8 but when I went to the till they went through at £5 :D I should've bought 2 pairs :rotfl:

Have pretty much stopped using my credit card, so should only have a very small balance next month to clear :)

This is now my 5th 3-day-week! Already! Time flies, huh?!! Applying for what I can, but still no word back from anyone.

Need to get booking a hotel for my birthday asap - I think I need something to look forward to! lol ;) And still haven't done anything about Biffy yet either :p

Haven't seen SIL since the funeral, yet she still manages to make me ! How/why is that?!? I'm only getting myself wound up and upset, nobody else. I need to chiiiiiillllll! :)

Managed Zumba on Thursday and felt better for doing it, so I'm pleased with that. Went for a walk yesterday round Portrush with OH. Lovely day so made the most of it. Fresh air helped too

    Diaries : catch up time!!

    ETA:
Have added ebay sales to my signature as I've got myself (temporarily at least) addicted to selling! Will be interesting to see how high it goes! :)
(and I'm not going to cheat and bump up my figure by including stuff I'm selling for anyone else, as they're getting the money)

  • Half day Tuesday! :D:D

...and just ordered myself another workout DVD :o:naughty:

Antibiotics seem to have kicked in rightly, so feeling a bit better today. Actually cycled to work too! :)

Started to look for a hotel last night, and then we veered away from hotels towards log cabins :D A log cabin would be perfect for a one night retreat for me and OH, just not sure if we'll manage to find one reasonably close. Would love love LOVE to rent one out! But I'm also thinking we'd be better with that for the summer for a long weekend or week hol with the girls. Hmmmm.....

Bids on 2 items on ebay so far, so will get at least £1.98 in sales!! lol :)

    Everybody well?

Glad you're feeling better HAW. I'm trying to decide what to do about jobs. The furthest away one I've worked out will take 3 hours in travel out of my day and £2500 minimum in fuel. Combine this with a little one and would it be fair on them? I wouldn't get to see them. :-(

  • Hi HAW!

Hope that cold is getting better! Log cabin sounds more of a retreat for 2 with wine and strawberries coated in chocolate rather than 3 teenagers along! ;)

Unix I haven't seen anything much about your job/little un situation but looking at the above, as a mum of a nearly 2 year old, I just about have the balance right by working 3 days a week and that is hard enough for me! I can't imagine adding all that travel to my day. I barely see her work days as it is. In the future I will look to improve our circumstances with more hours but for now, I am sticking to mostly comfortable and seeing plenty of her growing up. I am exceptionally fortunate that I have someone and nursery to care for jellytot when I work though! Hugs to you on the tough decisions x

Thanks Liltdiddylilt, its nice hearing that from someone else. I'm not entering into it lightly, and remember how my Dad working all sorts of hours (through necessity) meant I didn't see a lot of him when I was little. I really want a job soon. We had an upset last night, OH got taken out of work in an ambulance after taking very unwell. So fraught trip to the hospital. He's ok, but the job is too much for him. So once he's recovered he'll be job hunting again. Thank goodness for savings!!!!!

  • Unix! I didn't realise it was quite so far away! :( Three hours travel is a heck of a lot of time! Plus a huge chunk of finances. Never mind mentally the stresses and tiredness that goes along with the long commute. Never mind the effect on the rest of the family. You know about that from your own experience.
I almost think you've already made your decision on that one!

So sorry to hear about OH! Is he ok now? Will skoot over to your diary in a sec.

lilt I agree 100%. But OMG you should see this place! It's a crazy price for 1 night, but it also sleeps 12 people, hence bringing the 3 girls, plus extended family!! :p:rotfl: Keep you posted on that one ;)

Yes, HAW its not the mileage (28 miles) but its location and that the only way to get there is the most used and busy road in Scotland! I worked in that direction for a number of years and travelling was a nightmare.

OH is recovering (thank you for asking).

Aaaaah makes sense now unix! Whereas here I could get that mileage done in half an hour. Did it for years when I lived at mums. Averaged about 330-350 miles a week. Love the fact that I can now walk to work every day. Well, the days I am working. Can't say I miss the travel! Although in saying that too, if/when I finally manage to get a PT or FT job, I more than likely will have to go back to travelling again *sigh*

Glad your OH is doing ok unix :)

TFI Friday! :D Had a bit of a haphazard up/down week, mainly ref work/jobs, but trying to stay positive. Just feeling a tad more fragile than normal, and finding that it's not taking much to make me wobble :o

Just sold 1 more item on ebay - that's another 99p to my total :p

No plans for the weekend as yet. And doubt I'll be making many!!

Must. get. hotel. booked.! Undecided if I want to head to the likes of Belfast and get all dressed up and go out for dinner and drinks, or if I want to spend that wee bit more on a better hotel and chillax for the night. I'm kinda leaning more towards the relaxing bit. I think me and OH would probably be more in need of a chilled out one! I must be getting old :rotfl:

    ETA:
Ok. So the reason I wasn't even considered for the perfect PT job, was that 'they wanted someone to start within a few days so were very specific as to the fact that they didn't wish to see anyone who was currently in permanent employment'. Uhh....... Yeah....? The advert said 'immediate' and I'm only working part-time....
