I'm trying to tell him he can't punish her for her other half (they really don't get on) but he's not listening. We had a few blazing rows over ny, so it wasn't pleasant for us. Hopefully sorted now, he's trying to be funny about it now but I'm not finding it funny.Bad_Weather wrote: »Glad to hear things are good with sister, write off SIL. It is sad but it is not worth your health and state of mind worrying about.
Expect the worst and you can't be disappointed!
Sorry to hear things still aren't great with your lot unix. Maybe a row on our end would be good. Get the air cleared, ya know?! Instead, it's the ignoring and silence that makes things horrible. Then the two-faced-ness that goes along with it...?No thank you!!
Precisely BW. Not letting it get to me. They'll grow up and mature when they're ready:)

Really pleased to hear that, esp with all your ranting!!:D

Clever thinking! And probably why I usually stick to black/coloured blouses for work :rotfl: White is very smart thoughAnd hopefully you'll not need to use it too often and you get a job pronto.

Almost!! Does house hunting count?!??Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Peepo HAW!!!
Hope you are having a lovely dayI am sneaking on here in my lunch break after trying and failing to get through a mountain of paperwork before it started!
I'm impressed with your FD savings! I need to bolster my own but unfortunately I have spent and spent and spent like a little trooper in the last few months (granted I needed to spend after so long spending barely a penny on myself, the house, jellytot etc) so haven't managed any real savings.
Set up my own FD account 2 days ago, with a £100 deposit. Not bad for it being january but not the £300 maximum it could have been. I hope to be able to fill up my allowance by month 3 and have £900 in there by then.
Doing it all under the radar, no one else knows about it, so Shhh
I love house hunting... although I have to stick to rental house hunting only I am afraid. And have not found anything worth my attention within budget as yet
Better go and look at my own neglected diary. Don't be too hard on yourself budgetwise; it's how you end up going bonkers and finding no fun in life.

Oh! See I'm the opposite! I 'sneak' on during the day and take a break at lunch time :rotfl::o
Well done on FD. If I can do it then you definitely can! Took me a few months to work out I could put away the £300 each time. When I knew I had a tough month ahead I kept some back, but then topped up again afterwards. Was definitely worth it. Seeing that amount of money sitting in my account after 12 months? Yup! Motivation for sureYou can do it. Good luck
I'm sure where you're living at the minute is perfect for you and JellyStay put for a little longer and see where 2014 takes you...!
No I'll try not to be. No point working 5 days a week if I can't get to enjoy my money, huh?!

Hello
Another weekend over! Watched The Hobbit Friday night - good film AND I managed to stay awake (all 2hrs 45mins of it!!) :j
Saturday I met my friend for lunch (£6.95 + £2 parking + fuel) Well worth every penny.
Called at mums as it was her birthday. Gave her the Bayliss and Harding gift set which was the first crimbo pressie I bought - but never actually gave! PerfectHad a good day with the folks
Chilled out in the evening.
Yesterday I washed the car (!!) , quick shop in Sainsburys, dinner, then feet up.
Had a fiasco with Currys ref a faulty TV (6 weeks after purchase), and they were refusing to refund. Got a phonecall today saying for me to bring it in for a refund. The girl was unaware of the fact we left it in yesterday with their service desk as we felt we had no other choice. Which means that the refund has come from a higher power. Seemingly an email to a certain CEO seems to have done the trick
Good news and bad news ref work.
The good news is we're now closing at 1pm every Friday.
The bad news is the wages will reflect that.
Shoot!:(
Oh well. Guess I better re-budget and tie those strings even tighter.....!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Is the hobbit good! It is on netflix but I'm put off by 3 hours!
I would love love LOVE to finish at 1pm on a Friday! I will take a pay cut! When I have children I'm going to try and work a 4 day week! I will happily makes cuts in ither parts of my life to do this!
I think OH will always work 5 days but I think If I done his ironing and made his lunch and dinner he would not get too annoyed at this if he could see it as more than me just lounging around for a day0 -
HAW, I faced 2 wage cuts in a job when I first joined this site a number of years ago (20% in total I lost but still had to do same hours, all of us doing it supposedly saved thousands of people being made redundant). I cut my sky package, meal planned, cut out unnecessary journeys (I went to the supermarket on way home from work to save fuel), I did surveys for vouchers (to use for presents/treats/toiletries) and took on a part time job. It can be done!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

The Hobbit? Put it like this: I'm notorious for falling asleep when watching a film with OH. This time I didn't:D

Thanks for your commentsAppreciate it!
Update? Well my 'losing 1/2 day a week' has now changed into 'losing 2 days a week' Just found out on Friday morning, but I had a gut feeling, so I'm (weirdly!?) ok about it!!
Obviously house plans have been thrown out the window. We could have managed on my 1/2 day cut, but not the 2 day cut. We were actually at the stage of waiting on confirmation of getting the money from the bank!! We'd found a mansion for bargain price, beautiful house, so disappointing for us all, but it just wasn't meant to be.
I've already paid the bank the mortgage fee and valuation fee, so I'm out just under £300 (both non-refundable) and OH sold his touring bike at a loss, so he's out about the same.
Only contact we had with a solicitor was a phonecall before Christmas when he said he would find out from the EA who the house solicitors were. No contact since. Hoping he doesn't now decide he's done a bundle of work and try to charge us:(
I've had my 'budget brain' moment and I'm ok with the wage loss. Basically what I'm losing is what I was putting away into savings every month, so the good news is I still have a life!!
Speaking of which, I had THE best weekends craic!!! lolAfter hearing the news on Friday, me and OH just thought 'stuff it' after saving/doing without for so long coz of the house. We got a chinese between us all Fri night, took the girls for coffee/hot chocolate Sat morning, then me and OH went out for dinner and drinks Sat night. And I made a point of saying I was gonna drink instead of drive so we splashed out on a taxi too! Yes I was rather on the *ahem* tipsy/happy side, but I really enjoyed myself. And I think it's exactly what me and OH needed
:D
I have already sent my CV off to 5 recruitment agencies this morning. I'm open to part and full time work - just whatever I can get. Fingers crossed please!!
I got on the ball at the weekend and listed a dozen items on ebay. I may not get much but every little helps
Surveys are the next thing. Although I will have to start doing that at home rather than at workI'm only gonna be there 3 days so will actually have to do work then, rather than my usual faffing about on [STRIKE]the internet[/STRIKE] MSE!! :rotfl:
Yesterday I got notification from TCB that my claim for TalkTalk had been updated - the outstanding £21 is now in my PayPal account :j
And today I got another notification from TCB about my claim for the Watch Shop - almost £15 is now heading in the direction of PayPal too! :j
Sorry for the unusually long update, but just wanted to keep you's all posted!
Will try to get round a couple of diaries as I know I've missed a few days....Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Sorry to hear about the job cut and losing your mansion. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason though and something better will come along.
