  • Hoping for a really quiet, really uneventful, and really peaceful weekend.

Not entirely, but good enough for me :D

Reeeeeaaaally gotta watch my spending. Thinking that despite my great idea of a cashback credit card, it's actually really not a good idea :o If I'm keeping it on I will get the limit reduced to £500, coz that's really all I can afford! The fact I hit nearly £1k on my statement last week made me go :eek: A bit  with myself too for not being so strict. Yes, £300 of that was car insurance, and I've spent almost £300 on crimbo pressies, but still! Must. Stop. Spending.

All quiet on the WW front line since ;):) Well, on my side anyway!! :rotfl:

My 'dinner' out last night turned into coffee and dessert ('rich, moist, warm, sponge cake, smothered in a French brandy and toffee sauce, served with rum and raisin ice-cream'emo47.gif), so total spend was £6.20 :D

Mum rang me just before lunch. She was in town and fancied meeting up :) And she treated me to lunch too :D:D

Watched 2 Guns at the weekend too. Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. Absolutely brilliant action film with a fair bit of comedy thrown in :) Recommended!!

Can't believe this is my last week of work before I get off on hols!! Whoop! :j Whoop! :j Def looking forward to (and ready for!) the break!! :)

    How is everybody?

Hello HAW.. That dessert sounds amazing!

Can't believe it's so close to Christmas!

    xx

  • It absolutely was amazing! More please! :D

Was out for dinner last night with 2x sisters. £15.20 spend (main course and coffee just) Very tasty and was a nice wee night out :)

Trying hard to curb my spending as much as possible, but unfortunately grub and fuel are not free :o:(

    Everybody well?? :)

  • Hi unix and lucky :D And anyone else silently reading ;)

Had a good (and long overdue!) 2 weeks off work :D Didn't get many lie-ins right enough but was worth it.

Christmas went well, and everyone had a great time :) Well, mostly! I stressed WAY too much unfortunately :o Told OH that next year we're having curry :D:rotfl:

Got to see all the family a couple times over the hols which was great. Lovely to spend quality time with them.

Happy to say things have improved greatly with big sister :D

Not-so-happy is the fact that I'm done with SIL :( I tried, several times, and every time I got slapped in the face. No more. Bro seems to be heading in the same direction as SIL unfortunately too, but that's his choice. So long as he's happy, then that's the main thing.

I've actually done fairly well with not spending over the hols. I did fork out for a couple of (much needed) sale items, but otherwise my money/card stayed in my purse. Strings are being tied very tightly at the minute, and for the next few months, but will update again soon.

Hope everybody is well :) I've sooo much catching up to do on the diaries so will start on that now....

    Keep smiling :)

Hi HAW, glad you and your sis are ok. SIL, I know how you feel. OH is not speaking to his sis at the moment. I'm trying to tell him he can't punish her for her other half (they really don't get on) but he's not listening. We had a few blazing rows over ny, so it wasn't pleasant for us. Hopefully sorted now, he's trying to be funny about it now but I'm not finding it funny.

As for tightening your purse strings, I'm the same. I could do with a new white blouse for interviews but think I'll try vinegar/bi-carb and starch on my old one see how it comes up!

  • I was silently ready...your absense was noted! ;)

I just assumed you and hubby were off in your fancy car cruising the country side :D

Glad to hear things are good with sister, write off SIL. It is sad but it is not worth your health and state of mind worrying about.

Expect the worst and you can't be disappointed!

I was pleasantly surprised with my family! I do get on well with them all but over the year due to my stupidity and them taking the mickey they have all taken advantage and i have paid far too much and for alot of things (you have read the many many rants). But they did me proud on Christmas that they are not total chancers :)
