  • Happy Friday all

Today has been fun, resulting in a few freebies...

Got a free cuppa when I called over to see my sister at lunch time.

Was at the Dr this morning and got a prescription for an inhaler.

Have to go for a blood test next week (although I guess since I'm 'paying' in blood so it doesn't actually count as free)

...and have a letter to go to hospital for a chest x ray!

    Oh the joys.....! :p

Free listing this weekend on ebay so figure I'll relist what didn't sell last time.

Bank holiday on Monday too so looking forward to a 'no alarm' morning! :D

    Enjoy! :D

Tell me about it! I've struggled to get up all week - no alarm will be such a treat.

Good luck with your eBaying this weekend. I have a couple of things to put on but I really don't see it happening!
    Total Debt Sept 2010 - £24,132.38 / Current - £0.00/ 100% paid

    DFD - [STRIKE]Aug 2014[/STRIKE] 24th Aug 2012

    £10 a day // Jun - £64/£300 / Jul - £133/£310 / Aug - £281/£310
  • That's for sure :D

It's a bother putting stuff on ebay sometimes. Last listing was done at 3.30am coz I couldn't sleep! Talk about a bog standard description with little detail!! lol :) This weekend I'll just be hitting the 'relist' button for handiness ;)

And I did it! I've signed my life over to my employer!!

Well, not really. Just signed up for my Apprenticeship :D

    Debt-free and Proud!
For us Ebay is now about clearing space and recycling unwanted items to people who can use them. Any money we get is thought of more as a bonus. Occasionally we might have a little gem that makes more than we expect (for some reason, part used perfumes and aftershaves do quite well - go figure) but on the whole, if you check completed listings for what you are selling, you'll see prices are all around the same ballpark. And you have to list something knowing you'll be happy with your starting price if that's what it goes for.

I've had weeks when something I thought might sell for a bit went for 99p and something I listed as an afterthought went for a relative fortune. I just look at the total 'profit' after fees and postage.

As for postage, you're not meant to make a profit on that really. It's meant to be what it costs plus maybe a little for packaging. Why not reuse packaging and save a bit that way? We save any jiffy bags or boxes that we get (even bringing them home from items received at work) and reuse them.

Do you use Turbo Lister? That can make it a little more painless when you're listing multiple items. You can type them up when you are in the mood and upload them at the best times all in one batch. I do ours through the week as I have a few minutes here and there then we upload them at the right time to finish on the best day/time.

  • Happy Tuesday folks :D

Thanks Newgirl. I think it's crazy what some people buy/sell on ebay! I guess the sky is the limit!! ;) Heard of ones using Turbo Lister but haven't managed that myself... yet!
The £ is a bonus, and not the sole reason for selling. Got my stuff relisted at the weekend so hopefully get rid of a few more items! Watch this space!! lol :)

Went to Stroke City yesterday with OH and his mum and dad. Did rather well: only bought 2 coffees (and mini muffins!! :o), and 2 tops from Dorothy Perkins - both of which were on sale. Did our Tesco shop on the way home but that's always budgeted for anyway. All in all a very good day :D

Chest xray today so walking to the hospital - that'll keep me fit and save £!!

Counted all my 'shrapnel' for the month of August - £85 :j Wee trip to the bank this morning! Woohooo!! :D Well pleased with that one!

Have my ID stuff sent away to First Direct so hopefully that account will be up and running very soon.

Pay day this Friday too!! Looking forward to that one too! :j

Hope everyone had a good (long!) weekend!!! :D

...and have agreed to do an Apprenticeship in Business Admin through work. Which means... free qualification! :T

(just means I'm stuck in this job for min of 1 year after I finish so I don't have to pay tutor/registration/exam/certification fees back :o)

you can whip though the qualification far more quickly than they suggest if you put your mind to it though :D

Well, they say I can do it in 2 months or 2 years. Personally I'd prefer the 2 months option although I'd really need to get the head down :o Boss thinks I shouldn't really need to attend classes. And I'm also thinking e-portfolio for the qualification rather than paper based. I figure that should maybe save a wee bit of time. And hassle!! ;)

Never was that interested in studying once I did my A-Levels so I'm kinda wondering what I'm doing my NVQ for...

...actually that's a lie. I said at the interview I'd be wanting to make use of their expertise/facilities/etc and do my NVQ to better myself if they gave me the job...

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmmm nothing nicer than a cappucino to start the day! :)

    ...actually... yeah there is...

a FREE cappucino!! :D:D Had filled up my loyalty card so figured I'd treat myself this morning :D

    Happy Thursday everyone

Payday tomorrow :j Decided I really need to wind my neck in and stick to budget this month. Have done well since I started a few months ago, but struggled through August for whatever reason :o

Have a couple of watchers on my ebay stuff but still 6 days to go so fingers crossed!! :)

Have to go shopping lunchtime today so not a NSD for me. School tie to get still (talk about last minute :p), and rubber gloves for when I'm doing dishes/cleaning (no smart comments please :rotfl:). Will be trying to stick to my shopping list of 2 things if I can! :)

OHs DD3 starts secondary school tomorrow  DD2 back to school and DD1 starts Tech Monday  They grow up so fast... :p

Hope you all have a fab day :D

  • Happy PAYDAY Friday :j

Going out with SIL tonight for dinner, then either cinema or dvd :D Haven't had a girlie night with her since I started seeing OH, so definitely looooong overdue... (I've also budgeted too so no overspending!! ;))

Stuck to my shopping list today - dry shampoo for me, and separate shampoo and conditioner for OH DDs :D

Have had a cough for about 2 months, which can sometimes get a bit chesty. Also feel like I'm gasping for breath between coughs too which isn't pleasant. Sounds like my someone has their hand around my throat... :(
Anyway, tried cough medicine. No good. Went to Dr after a couple weeks and got anti-biotics. No good but we both figured a slight improvement. Prescription for cough medicine. Again no good. Few weeks later (last Friday) I go back to Dr. Got an inhaler which does seem to help a bit with the gasping part, although cough still there. Chest xray on Tuesday, then blood tests on Wednesday. Rang there to get results: full blood count, CRP, white cell count, and xray: all satisfactory.

So seemingly it's 'just' a cough and I'm fit and healthy... :o

Although when it sounds like my insides are about to come out I def have my doubts...

Anyway, hope you all have a fab weekend :)

  • Hello!

Good weekend and very little spend :T

Got my 1st Direct account opened so happy days! :D Opened the E-saver with a couple of pounds, set up 2x so's, have posted the form off to transfer dds and wages :) Fingers crossed £100 my way soon! ;)

Today I opened the Regular Saver with them so my aim is to save the maximum of £3600 over the 12 months and get 8% interest :)

Have a bid on 1 item on ebay which isn't great but better than nothing!! Couple more days to go still...

Feeling positive today (and it's Monday ), and hoping the attitude continues on through the week :)
