  • Soooo.... How have I managed so far?

-1 NSD day so far :j Should've been more but OH sprung stuff on me a couple of days which threw me off. Fingers crossed I get at least 2 this week, but 3 would be a bonus!!! :D

-Didn't quite stick to budget last week but didn't go too far over thankfully. Think I should be on track ok for this week :)

-Oops! :( Online shopped which I said I wasn't going to do. BUT all 3 purchases were found via MSE (thank you!!!), and 2 of them are crimbo pressies :D

-OH still hasn't said where he wants to go :o Told him at the weekend it's up to him, I'm not gonna keep asking/reminding him! If he wants to go away, come see me and I'll book the hotel!! And preferably not last minute!!!

-Managing the surveys ok. Harder at the weekend as I rarely have my laptop on right enough.

-Only 1 takeaway cappucino last week :T

Signature updated with my savings and my NSDs :D Looking gooooood!!! ;)

Well done on having a plan. Glad to hear that the cough is getting less bothersome. Do you have both preventer and reliever inhalers?

    Hello

Thanks for stopping by again chevalier :D Regards to the inhaler I honestly have no idea!!!! :o Just the one: Ventolin Evohaler whatever that is. I'll assume it's preventer but don't quote me on that...!

    Update for this week...

Had the cold/flu last week/end so I was a bit of a mess and feeling sorry for myself :( Thankfully it seems to have cleared up so will try to make the most of this weekend! :)

-Managed 2 NSDs this week which I'm well proud of! :j

-Stuck to budget this week :j

-Online shopped again :( (but because I love my wee phone so much I decided to buy a new cover/keypad instead of buying a new phone - so saved loads :) Plus the money was already in my paypal!!)

-OH still not thought about his birthday

-surveys I'm doing ok with them :)

-only 1 takeaway cappucino this week :T Plus no visits to the cafe during lunch break either which is an extra well done for me!! ;)

Dentist yesterday cost £66 for checkup, clean and polish, 2 mini-xrays and 2 fillings, one of which was white! Well pleased with results and that's my mouth sorted for another while :D

Got fab result with Argos for anyone who was following the thread :D

Wondering how long before my £100 joining bonus for First Direct will take to appear in my account. Would it be rude to ask? :o

How is every one else getting on with their every day dilemmas?

  • Happy Monday ??

    Yeah I think so!! :D

Had reduced my budget last week by £10 - and stuck to it :j That also included buying a pair of track bottoms in Sports Direct - which don't fit so I'm taking them back for a refund today!! ;)

Friday I only bought a cappucino in the morning (my usual Friday treat), but cancelled my beauticians appointment and me and OH didn't do our usual Tesco shop on the way home. So I could've had a NSD after all :p Oh well... Gonna try harder this week to get closer to my NSD target! :)

Saturday I woke up to a text from First Direct - I got my £100 joining incentive :j :D That'll be transferred to my Regular Saver next month!

Had a brilliant day on Saturday with OH. We climbed Benevenagh mountain. First time really I'd done anything like that at all so was well pleased with myself ;)

    On our way...

The 'preventer inhalers' are either purple or brown, the blue one is used to combat attacks of coughing or breathlessness.
DS4 was asthmatic as a child; after not getting very far with the NHS - bar issue of blue & purple inhalers - I took him privately to be tested for allergies. House dust was the major culprit, plus certain pollens. New hypo-allergenic bedding [inc. mattress & pillows], re-painting his room & sealing the floor, buying a Dyson to clean more effectively, and cutting down a pine tree in the garden were all it took to stop all of DS4's symptoms.

Wow that's an incredible deal -my dentist charges more than that just for a scale & polish!

Well done for getting to the top of Benevenagh - what a glorious view! And you had a beautiful day for it; am rather jealous (we have no mountains in East Anglia).

Ah! Reliever then coz it's blue! :)

That was a lot to go through for DS! Glad it was finally sorted though. I basically sneezed solid for 6 months when I moved in with OH. Waking up in middle of the night and everything! Not sure what was causing it but if I sneeze any time now I just tell OH I'm allergic to him :rotfl:

 I def did ok then!!! Northern Ireland has... ummmm... one advantage that we know of now :rotfl:

Isn't it stunning? :) I'm a country bumpkin through and through so scenery over shopping wins hands down!!! ;)
We've our wee break to Donegal in 2 weeks time so no point putting the hiking gear away just yet! Can't wait :D

  • Morning all emo22.gif

    How is everyone?

I had a brilliant weekend!! emo1.gif Met my friend for lunch on Saturday in Homemade. I had red pepper and sweetcorn chowder soup with a roll - sooooo yummy!!! My friend paid too which was really sweet! Didn't buy anything in town which was very well done for me.
OH and me did our shopping in Asda. Decided we'd have a beer and chill out that night so found 12 pack of Carlsberg for £7! Bargain!!!! emo3.gif

Yesterday the weather was fab so off we went for our usual trip to Bentley's for a cappucino emo1.gif Forgot a couple things in Asda too so had to nip to the shop again before dinner could be cooked to perfection!! lol emo29.gif

I think I've mentioned before that at the end of every day, I put all my loose change into a tin. Usually once a month I lodge it in the bank. It's like a wee bonus a few days before payday!! emo3.gif Decided last month I wouldn't lodge it, and instead I'd save it til the end of this month. It's this weekend we're heading away to the wee cottage in Donegal emo31.gif Counted it all last night, so today I'm away off to the bank to lodge £111!!! emo57.gifemo57.gif

So obviously no NSD's this weekend unfortunately, but hoping for one today! Gonna try to get my NSD count up this week as much as possible!!!

Took this photo on my way in to work this morning too...

Have a great day everyone emo31.gif

  • Not doing so well with my no spending unfortunately :(

Decided that for Novembers NSD challenge I'll have to change my rules slightly :o

So long as I don't spend anything in a day then that's good. If OH calls/texts before I leave work and decides he needs carrots and peas, be it 74p total or whatever, I'm not counting that as a spend. It's happened at least twice this month, which is why I'm stuck on 5/10 NSDs for October! :(

Otherwise I'm doing ok and sticking to my wee targets fairly well! :) (and limit of 1 takeaway cappucino a week is difficult!! lol ;))

Decided I need to buy a 'self help' type book, but unfortunately it costs £10 in Easons :( I would like to take it with me this weekend on our break, so ordering online isn't really an option. What I could maybe do is buy it in Easons, read it, then sell it on ebay :) I'm a fussy person and hate the spine of books being creased or anything, so I'd be 99.9% sure it'd be in almost perfect condition once I'd finished with it.
