Hi HAW - just delurked to ask a technical question - how do you do those link things - ie make a link and put a word/phrase rather than the link itself IYSWIM - I can follow instructions but cant find any on MSE -Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

lol
Click on the 'insert link' button and copy in the web address eg.
http/forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=56746451&postcount=102
When you hit 'enter' to insert it in the reply box, you'll see it has highlighted the 2nd web address in blue. That's the text you can amend so it shows instead of the hyperlink.
That make sense?
For example
[ URL="http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=56746451&postcount=102"]http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=56746451&postcount=102
becomes
[ URL="http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=56746451&postcount=102"]your post
which shows as
your post
Hope this helps!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

Saved myself money by joining the local library
Have borrowed a book called The Art of Being Brilliant. Hope to read it this weekend when we're away at our wee cottage in Donegal. The reviews seem good anyway so fingers crossed!! Also taking a John Grisham novel as per usual!!
Planning on not spending much this weekend. Stopping off at Asda on our way down to stock up on grub for the weekend. One meal out and maybe a coffee out is probably all the spending we'll do. Walking gear is the first thing being packed!!
Hope everyone has a really great weekend. And enjoy that extra hour in bed too (or whatever mischief you may be getting up to!)

Hello all :wave:
Can you believe it's 1st November already?! :eek: Time flies, huh?!
October was a pretty good month for me financiallyI think by joining the October NSD challenge really got me thinking about stuff, and being more aware of when and what I'm spending (even though I was 4 off my target of 10
)
I've joined the November NSD challenge and here's my post to what my rules are for the month.
I read the book The Art of Being Brilliant when I was away on holiday, and I would definitely recommend it. It's a 'glass half full' type of book!
Love this quote from it:10% of life is made up of what happens to you
90% of life is decided by how you react to the 10%
I've a few other 'goals' for November too, which is more about me and my personal life, rather than financial:
1. Gotta get my self confidence up and stop feeling so insecure about myself
2. Gotta get my happy face on (:D) and stop thinking that I'm carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders - I'm not!!!
3. Gotta stop smothering my OHI'm so scared of losing him that I've gone the opposite direction and been too full on
If anyone has any words of inspiration or suggestions on any of the above, please say so!! I'm keeping an open mind so will welcome all comments - good and bad!Oh, and any suggestions on how to stop being so emotional would be a huge help too!!
Thanks for reading and feel free to commentWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Hi
Rather spendy weekend unfortunately but well worth every penny!Taking 4 items back to TK Maxx today for a refund too which is good! (was too lazy to try on stuff on Saturday!!
)
Managed my first NSD for November yesterday :j
Since deciding I needed to put on my happy face more often, I've actually been doing pretty well!Well, until yesterday
Just a few things happened one after the other and got me down so had a chat with OH. Even he agreed that I'd been doing ok for a few days so that was good
Today is busy in work so keeping my head downBe home time before I know it!!
Have updated my signature - November NSD 1/10 and FD has an extra £400 added to it, making it £800/£3600 :j
Have a good start to the week everyoneWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
