Thanks all
Bit of a waiting game at the minute so watch this space...
Had a really good weekendSaturday afteroon went for an hours walk with OH in Portstewart after Bentley's coffee, then out for movie meal deal at the Jet Centre. Went to see The Hobbit and I would def recommend it! Excellent film
Sunday was just a trip to Asda then I went to visit mum and dad for a couple hours which was nice. Watched Unknown last night. Seen it before but also very good film!
I walk to work and can't be bothered changing footwear when I get in to work and all that jazz, so had found a pair of black trainers in Dunnes a few months back, but in no time the water was getting through (I know! I know! You get what you pay for!)
Anyway, was in TK Maxx at lunch and bought a pair of Romika boots. They're flat. Black. Waterproof. And furry on the inside. Down to £13 from £40! Bargain! (can't find a pic sorry)
Shhhhhh... I was at the till and added a bar of chocolate to my purchases too
Got those things with a gift card so technically a NSD for me! That'll be number 6 for January already which I'm well pleased about! :j
Hope everyone is having a good Monday
EDIT:
Just checked. The bar of choc I got was 50p reduced from £2.59!!!
Bargain!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
HAW, don't feel guilty about chocolate. I think its hard-wired into our sub-conscious that we need it!
What did you think of the Hobbit? We went to see it at the IMAX here and although I thought it was good I thought the trolls were quite cartoon like and the bit with the rock people was a bit silly.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. :rotfl:
Course we need it! How else are we meant to function?!
Aw we both loved The HobbitWhen's the 2nd one out?!
Eyes felt a bit wonky after 2+1/2 hours of 3D but otherwise ok! There were a few bits that we were just  at, like the rock dudes, but gotta remember it's a film!!
OH said they should make hobbit slippers. Which, on searching google, they already do:
Must see if I can get OH a pair... :rotfl:
EDIT:
£35?!?! Will have to think about it a while....
Lunch time: melon and grape duo from Tescos with greek yoghurt. YUM!
EDIT no 2:
...lunch finished off with a cappuccino and huge bit of carrot cake. Double YUM!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Friday at last! Crikey it's been a looooong week! Will be glad when 5.30pm comes
Have managed 7 NSDs in January so far! :j Great news for me coz I've only managed 6/10 each month from Oct-Dec
No plans as such for this weekend, but have paint for the bathroom and the wallpaper has already been stripped so I guess that'll be what I'm doing!!
Starting to think I need need NEED to join the 'no buying toiletries' thread or something. Seen a link to vouchers on MSE the other day for Kleenex facial wipes, Kleenex eye makeup remover wipes, and Nivea body lotion. None of which I needed but yet still proceeded to buy:(
I'll maybe even just write out my own list on my diary here and score off the stuff as and when I use it...
Have stuff on ebay. Couple of watchers so not holding out much hope for that at all
We had to buy a new hoover as the one OH had gave up the ghost. We spent a whopping huge £37.99 in Argos for a Bissell. Great wee piece of kit and the suction is something else  (yes I realise I am sooooo domesticated and now soooooo sad gotten in my old age!)
Not very MSE but have been debating a new phone. I've only ever spent bought 2 phones outright, all others I've had on contract. Have had this wee Sony Ericsson Elm for over 2 years and I love it. Paid to get it unlocked last year so I could switch from Orange to O2. I'm on a 12 month SIM only deal for £10.50, and I don't want to get back into the whole £25+pm contract thing again. I know I'd stick to Sony so that's everything else out the window! Had a wee nosey in the O2 shop today to get the general feel of them. Never had a smartphone before so it'll be strange! In a good way I hope. Wouldn't want to be spending more than £100 but realise this is virtually impossible. Max £150 so it gives me a few more choices. Was looking on the O2 website and they've a couple of refurbs. Is this a good idea or bad?
Finally started reading one of the books I got out of the library before Christmas: Brilliant Positive Thinking The first 'point' they made was almost identical to the one that stuck out from the last book - it's our reaction to things that happen that determine how 'happy' or 'sad' we are in life. Simple!
Anyway, enough of the rambling! Hope everyone has a great, cosy and MSE weekend!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

Refurbs are a good idea and sorta cheap-ish
I got excited over our new hoover!!
Now just scared I'll blow it up haha.0 -
What sort of guarantee do you get with the refurb'd phone HAW? Still no sign of a job and its getting me down. Been applying for loads. I'm guessing its maybe the time of year? Did you hear anymore at your work?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
Saving about £50ish on a refurb direct from O2. Would need to check the warranty bits though. I got money from mum and dad a few months ago so I could use that to treat myself, as that's what I was given the money for in the first place! lolCan't imagine I'd get much for my phone if I sold it on ebay
I may pass it on to mum just instead. She's still using the W810 I passed on to her years ago!
Time of year I don't think is great for jobsFingers crossed something comes up for you soon
Nothing more at my work. They're releasing the 'matrix' next week I think so hopefully that'll give me more of a clue whether or not to panic
Had a good weekend. Trip to Junction One and Ballymena on Saturday - I bought coffee's and a car park ticket!Yesterday I met my friend for a cuppa so again out the money for cuppas (my turn!), and a bun
Fuel and milk had to be bought too
Hoping I get a couple more NSDs in this week to get me closer to my target of 10Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
It's Friday!!!
Hope you are all well! Finally managed to hit my 10/10 NSD target so very pleased with myself. Adding another 2 to that target so fingers crossed!!
Went to the cinema last night to see Pitch Perfect. Honestly? I absolutely loved it!!The 3 girls thought it was fab, want it on dvd and were chatting about downloading whatever songs on the way home, and OH admitted he enjoyed it too!! Definitely a teenage flick, but lots of laughs and a few innuendos too to keep the adults amused!
The singing was excellent too. Def would recommend it and will be ordering the dvd when it becomes available
I'm in great form today! So glad it's Friday for one! No plans made with OH as yet but we'll be out and about over the weekend for a walk and coffee anyway.
Have invited my mum and dad for dinner tomorrow night as OH is going out for one of his mates birthdays. My special ginger pork and dauphinoise potatoes me thinks
Decided I will start (again!) Zumba next week  It's been over a year since I was last at a class so will probably dieWednesday at 6pm. Gotta get motivated!!!!
Have to NOT buy toiletries too! Had a look through my stash the other night. Hoo boyThe ONLY thing I will allow myself to buy is dry shampoo and spray deodorant for my handbag when these 2 run out. Everything else there seems to be plenty of so gotta ignore offers! Besides, it's only a bargain if I need it. Right?!
Hope you all have a fab FridayWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0
