Managed the grand total of 6 NSDs for November. Same as October. Have my [STRIKE]reasons[/STRIKE] excuses for not hitting target so I'm happy with the final figure!!
Today's spends:
Treated myself to a take away cappuccino on way in to work - [STRIKE]£2.40[/STRIKE] FREE because I had a full loyalty card!
'Bought' OH DD3 her crimbo pressie - [STRIKE]£25.99[/STRIKE] technically FREE as I had a voucher (thank you MySurvey!!)
Just posted an ebay item - [STRIKE]£2.20[/STRIKE] which doesn't count as 1. buyer has already paid postage, and 2. it was on OHs ebay account so he was paying for it anyway!
Happy days!! :j
So.... Back to PAYE tax
Spoke to HMRC last night again. (Seriously helpful dude on the phone yet again!) I'm in agreement with them that I do owe tax. BUT! The guy was probing as to who I thought was at fault for this (50/50 was my answer if you must know!!), and he encouraged me to write to them and appeal due to 'employer error'.
Guess there's no harm in trying!!!
Hope everyone is having a happy hump dayWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Hump day lol :rotfl:
You've had a very productive day HAW. Where do you find the energy? I bought the second last present today. The last one is tank driving experience for SS, OH says hold off buying it.... does he know something I don't know?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Productive? Yes. Energy? No!!!
Oh yes it was productive! Got my first 2 units for my BA NVQ submitted for assessment  Gotta get the head down and keep working on that.
Letter written to HMRC and will be posting it this morning. I may keep the fingers crossed on that one!Probably take a few weeks to hear back from them again so not gonna think or worry about it until such time as I do.
Meeting little sister today for lunch
Still a handful more pressies to get but an idea of what I'm getting them so should hopefully be all done and dusted this time next weekAnd crimbo cards too. Need a few of those. Again, keeping this to a minimum and hand delivering as many as possible!!
Hmmmmmm... does sound as though OH knows something you don't. Intriguing!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Hi!
Thought I'd come over and have a read, although there are some ups and downs you look like in general you are doing pretty well! Unlucky with the tax, they never work things out until years later - hopeless!
Anyway just wanted to say hello! And keep up the good work!Kitchen Debt - 2820/260Save £12k in 2013 #060: 1293.24/3000MFW: 88760.00/85000.00 (4.24% paid)0 -
Hi nicolula87 and thanks for visiting my diary
Yes definitely something of a rollercoaster this past while
Thankfully things are a-ok at the minute, that's in regards to OH, home, family, health and work
Can't believe it's the last day of November  Where has the time gone?!
Got paid today :j
Transferred £1k into my new Halifax account.... and back out again! They're not keeping my money any longer than is necessary thank you very much!!
I think by Monday or Tuesday I'll be able to update my signature with my FD savings. Can't wait to see the figure going up!!
Hope everyone has a fab Friday!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Hope you have a fab friday too HAW. Its pay day for me too. Need to be very careful with the pennies with christmas coming up (no pay over christmas).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Yay for paydays all round then
:j
December/January is always a tough oneWe get paid on the 21st Dec I think it is, then not til the 31st January. Ouch
Have to say though that this year should be much easier than last year! I left my last job on the 23rd December, where I was only getting paid weekly. Started my new job 2nd January, and with now getting paid monthly I had to wait til the end of January by living on a weeks wage!
It was very tough but when you know in advance it helped a lot!! Just had to SERIOUSLY wind my neck in and live off the bare minimum. It is possible (just about!)Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

Thank you again for recommending FD, HAW - am very impressed, and pushing odd sums from the other bank into their savings accounts has already made a difference for me too.0 -

Glad you've found it beneficial!
I've since opened an account with Halifax to make full use of their £5 a month. Maybe make back some of the charges they so ruthlessly used to take off me!! :rotfl:unixgirluk wrote: »FD? whats that?
