  • Meant to add Friday ...... slightly envious that you have somewhere / room in your house to have both your tray lined up together :o

I can get both mine in the "cats" room but they're back to back which is a bit of a pain (and they take up nearly the whole length of the room!:rotfl:)

I have one the same size upstairs and one similar sized one in the garage too (for when the Bengals are in their enclosure)! :rotfl: But it is great to have the "main" two side by side ;)
  • Well .... results time!:)

I am onto my last 10L bag of Tigerino (phew!) - there is a 30L bag tucked away for winter emergencies (but hoping I don't need it!). Still on the 2nd bag of Biokats so that's lasting brilliantly too!

    Tigerino

    Positive
Smell - no odors from tray
Weight - lightweight & easy to move even 30L bag
    Economical - very
    Dust - none

    Negative
    Tracking - an absolute nightmare!
    Cleaning out - takes ages!
Clumping - OK but I do find concrete mountains stuck to the bottom/sides of the tray sometimes which are hard to remove

    Biokats

    Positive
Smell - lovely fresh smell & no odors from tray
    Cleaning - easy and quick
Clumping - excellent, pebble shaped clumps easy to remove
    Economical - very
    Dust - none
    Tracking - very little!

    Negative
Weight - very heavy & hard to move even 15L bag

So ..... can't wait to finish the last of the Tigerino and get Biokats into both trays:) - must get some more ordered!

    Glad you like it Rising....

How long do you think a bag will last you? Although, difficult to judge as you are using both still.

I have both trays filled with fresh Tigerino and still a 30 litre bag of it left.. SEriously can not wait for it to finish, hate it so much.... the tracking....

Will go back to either Biocat or Golden Grey.....no matter what.

How is the Golden Grey trial going? Where is the tester? LOL
  • I'm counting it on how long 2 bags last (used the vast majority of 1 bag just to fill the GINORMOUS tray!).

    Still on bag 2......

I didn't like the clumping aspect of Tigerino either - it took me ages to clean out too. That's why I prefer OKO as it clumps much better in my view - one wee is taken out with one scoop whereas with Tigerino, some could take 4 or 5 scoops!

Due to the fact that I don't want to use a clay-based litter for reasons already stated on here, I think OKO plus is one of the best all-round non-clay litters, although it does track somewhat. With the trays I have, much of this is reduced.

If you want a fine, lightweight non-clay litter that is even easier to scoop than OKO and much more like the fine clay-based ones, then World's Best is a great choice. I don't use it as for 5 cats, it works out a fair bit more expensive than OKO which all adds up over the course of the year when you have 4 large trays to service! ;)

I ordered Golden Grey and started using it (well, the girls did ;)) on Thursday.

I'm converted and this will be my litter of choice now...... much, MUCH less tracking than the Tigerino. Clumps really well for picking and not too smelly.

    Sorted :D!
:j seems like we're (nearly) all happy then!

Would you post back & let us know how long it lasts?

I'd be interested to compare it, cost wise, with the Biokat and may give it a go if it's a similar price.

OK - sorry to resurrect this thread BUT I did say I'd report back with how long the stuff lasts....

I started a 14kg bag of Golden Grey on 16th August - it's used mostly by one cat with another making irregular visits (as she likes to go outside) but this period included a time where I had to make up a second tray during my cat's operation and again when we took the girls away for a week on holiday. So about three weeks with high usage.

Anyway, finally finishing this bag now when I change the tray with the last of it.

So, one 14kg bag has lasted 7 weeks... and much, MUCH less tracking so I am really happy :j.

ETA - OH is very heavy handed when shovelling the poo so probably removes much more than he needs to... probably could make it last longer if I did it all myself.
    :hello:

I have started back on Golden Grey a week ago on Friday. Split one bag between my 2 massive trays. With 4 cats it looks like a bag will ast 2 weeks or just a bit short of 2 weeks.

I am over the moon that Tigerino finished TBH.

I will order Biocat next time as I was using both Biocat and Golden Grey before but can not remember which one I prefered (did nto matter to the cats)

OK - reporting on "going back to Golden Grey".

1 bag, split equaly half half (whole bag) between 2 massive trays (my trays are massive) lasted 15 days for my 4 cats that only pee/poo indoors.

    This is the litter:

This is what trays I have got:

As I said - I put half of the bag in one tray and half in another.

And one bag lasted 15 days with my 4.

Today - opening a bag of Biocat to compare. Will do exactly the same, split the whole bag between the 2 trays and see how long Biocat will last as Biocat is a little bit cheaper than Golden Grey.

How is everyone else on Biocat/Golden Grey doing? LOL

Well, just cleaned out both litter trays and started a new bag of liter - Biocat....

Saturday the 13th in the evening. Let's see if it beats Golden Grey as I honestly do not remember which one I preferred when I was using them both... old age and stuff ;)
