Train your cats to use the loo themselves?

I was thinking about it but with 4 of them - would never get to use the loo myself LOL

    Here, for anyone interested:

  • Ohhhh meant to add - the cats are obviously impressed with it too ..... since it's been down, neither of them have even ventured into the tray with the Tigerino in :p

Good news - it means I can (fingers crossed) go back to one tray .... well, if they can manage a few days sharing, no reason why they can't always do so ;) (and used to, until the fighting issues!).

Leaves me with a dilemma tho' - just finished one big bag, the other has been put away for winter emergencies but I still have the 2 smaller bags (although I guess they were free).

Thinking they may be heading to the cat & dog home near DMs ........ going down at the weekend and have some stuff to take down - small pate tins I bought that wee cat won't eat (bit cat would never lower himself to eat that!) ..... dry food I got on offer that they won't eat ..... a nearly full bag of dry dog food that upset Maisie's tummy .....

Note to self: learn the lesson .... buy what they will eat / use and stick to it - even if slightly more expensive, it's cheaper in the long run than having stuff to give away .... although the rescue's always happy for it!:)

And - still happy with Golden Grey and Biocat I hope?

Still got a bit (massive bit) of Tigerino but so really wish I could go back to either Golden Grey or Biocat.....:(

Wishing for a new job with better pay.. sigh...
  • Yup GR loving the Biokat:D ..... I have actually ordered some more!:o

Seem to have the Zoo+ deliveries sussed :j ordered Thurs night both times & both times came on a Saturday :j (really good considering free delivery & didn't pay extra for Sat del) - also the Yodel guy has left both times (in the garage yest as left a note on my front door as I was away for the day) - so sorted for that now!:j

I did use most of a bag filling up my ginormous tray :o but have only needed to top up a little, so think I'll see how long the 2 bags last (rather than just the one) as that will give a more accurate cost usage.

It's soooo much easier to clean out than the Tigerino & very little tracking (more importantly none outside the room where the trays are) and things are still buried (which didn't happen with the wood pellets) - I have had to get a new scoop (99p) with smaller holes to catch the flecks of liquid but seems to be working even better now!:T

It's also got a lovely smell and when I walk in, I'm confronted by this (obviously when the cats are digging in it, it must release more nice smell IYKWIM)

I had absolutely the same with Oko as I now have with Tigerino - buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
  • I'm still impressed with it! I don't know whether this is reality or because I've got enough to last until at least next June.:rotfl:

My tracking (you know what I mean ha!) isn't anywhere nearly as bad as what you're all experiencing, but I am hoovering every day anyway.

I can now join in the poo shovelling fun! Just put tigerino in my tray so will report back.

Have used golden grey and oko previously so will see how it compares.

gunsandbajos - was hoping to see you here (with a shovel) as I know you were using golden grey too so will be nice to see how YOU rate Oko/Tigerino against Golden Grey..

I miss Golden Grey/Biocat - yes, I know it is sad to miss cat litter but..... LOL

I've used fine clay based litters in the past, but don't any longer because
    (a) they're bad for the environment
    (b) they're bad for my wallet, and
    (c) they're bad for Lula who plays in them like they're a sandpit :rotfl:

But having said that, I have much fewer issues with tracking of OKO than many of you do. I can't believe I've done this, but I've taken a couple of pics too. So bearing in mind I have 2 large boxes used frequently by 5 cats (particularly today as it's rained a lot) and I haven't vacuumed since yesterday morning - this is how the tracking looked 10 minutes ago:

There were a couple of other bits slightly further away out of shot, but not enough to get in a pic ;)

But if you look in the grey trays at the front (which can be emptied back into the litter boxes), here is what you see:

    P1010103.jpg

I don't know if it's clear, but there is a significant amount of litter in there!

So this will explain I think why I have much less problems with tracking and why I thought I'd share :)
