Thanks for the suggestion, but my little darling has one and just jumps straight over it!0 -
Try any of the 2 from my post above, if you go back a few pages on the thread - there are comments from people who have tried it (after using tigerino) and are very happy.0

I use Golden Grey and it is really good - clumps brilliantly and keeps the smell from my exceptionally stinky cat to a minimum! I find the price is worth it for that alone, but because I can use a thinner layer of it and change it less often (as I can remove the mess more easily) it actually doesn't work out as dear as it looks.
I use a bath mat in front of the tray to stop tracking - cheap and effective!0 -

I had this mat, but it was rubbish, I got this one though and it's so much better. http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/cat_litter_litter_boxes/deo_accessoires/litter_box_mats/99932 The one with the lift out bit is on offer at zoo+ at the moment though too.
Does anyone know how long cats best oko+ might be on offer at zoo+ for?
I tried tigerino, but really didn't like it, the lumps broke up so easily into tiny bits I couldn't scoop out, so it all got very dirty very quickly and I had to change the whole thing much quicker. With cats best oko plus I just pick out the lumps and top up, dont have to empty the whole tray at all, although not entirely sure how hygienic it is, but I'm sure I've read others who do that on here.0 -
I loved Golden Grey and BIocat but with 4 cats - very expensive.
With just one - brilliant...0 -
Not feeling the love with tigerino, which is a shame as I have loads!! Still not found my good scoop though, may need to buy a new one and see if it's better. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Me neither ...... it's been relegated to the 2nd litter tray - both cats are using the one with the Biokats 1st and only venture into the Tigerino one if needs must (ie wee cat arrived last night as I was cleaning out the Biokat tray - obviously couldn't hang on, looked at me & then went flying into the Tigerino one:rotfl:)gettingready wrote: »Can not wait for the Tigerino I have at home to finish to be honest... got a whole 30 litre bag and a bit in the other bag.. probably till mid October/end October....
30L bag has been put aside for winter emergencies (very rural area & deliveries often suspended - too heavy to cart home from sm & really don't like the stuff they sell anyway). Have nearly made it through the 1st of the 10L bags in the 2nd tray.
Starb I can highly recommend the Biokat one GR mentions - smells lovely (thought the cats might be put off by it but no:)), easy to clean & lasts well.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Not sure how long the offer is on for with Z+ so I stocked up today on some OKO as I don't particularly rate Tigerino either.
But in answer to your final question, it's not hygienic at all. You should completely empty all old cat litter at the longest fortnightly and fully disinfect the tray. Not sure how happy I would be using a toilet that was never cleaned, even with the waste being taken away. With cats, you increase the risk of diseases such as FIP if you don't follow robust but basic hygiene standards.0
