Everyday - automatically using FBackup4 (google it). backup to external networked drive - only data no applications
does both Desktop and laptop.
seems ok and FREE -
Hope that helps0 -
Not backing up is a schoolboy error
Always be prepared. Things usually tend to screw up in periods when you least expect them to or when you think your computer won't ever malfunction. So the best thing you can do, is to backup once every 2 weeks.0 -
Never! Never had to since my laptop is always in top shape. The only time my files go to another disk other than my HD is when I transfer it to another laptop or computer.
What happens when your hard disk fails? What happens when someone drops your laptop? How do you know what state your memory or hard disk are in? Do you look at them under a microscope?
Any fool can lose data... Argh! :wall:Jumbo

I can remember the look of surprise (and horror) on his face when I said "What do you mean? What does that do?". lol I had about 8,000 words of a dissertation on there at the time that wasn't backed-up! My friend installed a free virus scanner and found that my laptop had about 200 viruses on there (although my memory might be playing tricks).
I often wake up in cold sweats nowadays thinking how lucky (or stupid) I was back then :P
