I hope I never have my eyeline enlarged, it's probably big enough as it is.

Could have been worse and said waistline :)

Back to the topic. I had a letter from them yesterday asking me to phone them as they have tried to call me but couldnt. My initial flurry of indignation - 'you've had 5 letters, you know whats wrong and I'm not doing anything that I cant evidence in black and white' was tempered when I realised that it was probably their attempt to ask me to pay my balance which has been outstanding for 3 months rather than resolve their problems. So looks like they're going down the DCA route soon :)

Advice needed. Paid full amount (as per normal)1st of june via online method used every month. Received late payment fine and bill with interest. No sign of payment. Went to online bank: mr t refunded money 6th june. No letter to me no warning. What should i do now? Obvs cc bill now higher as has another month's purchase. We have enough money in the bank to pay the full amount. If i pay the usual way will it 'bounce' again? Was thinking of sending them a cheque and letter. So
    Q1) good idea?
Q2) if yes what shd i put in the letter?
Q3) OH sez we shd ditch CC and use debit card instead. Does that cover the same for insurance purposes? (did use it once when a company went bust)
Q4) if keep tesco cc what is best way of paying them in future?
Q5) if cc but not tesco any recommendations? We always pay in full and never take out cash (though above posts have alarmed me!)

Personally, pay what you owe less charges and interest via cheque.
Write to them and explain that your refusing payment for unecessary charges and interest as it is their fault they were incurred and that your giving notice that you're closing the account.
But good luck in picking an address/department to write too, I've had about 4 different ones so far - Glasgow seems to be the best bet. Then expect to hear nothing in response.

Some folk are accident prone, I seem to be incompetant company prone and cannot simply renew insurance without a problem so I've been through taking on big companies one or two times. Never phone, put it in writing then you have a full record plus you dont have the going round the houses explaining things again.

Get another card theres loads of offers on here and moneysupermarket.

    sorry just noticed:
ALEX - can you post on here the exact description of all transactions on the statement?
    No problem:
    INTEREST - SEE SUMMARY 0.08
    INTEREST - SEE SUMMARY 0.04

The description shows that I had a cash withdraw, which I never had, as I mentioned in first post the sum is not big, but it's no reason for it and it was refunded by Tesco operator.
Can you also confirm that the balance was cleared last month and there are no suspicious transactions on that one which could have caused the charge on this one?

I pay normally for my credit card in full by DD without any outstanding balance!

Do you pay manually online or DD?
If the former, did you perhaps forget to include the account reference number?

charge for no reason is theft, do you allow people to rob you on the streets?

Actually, since it's their money in the first place is that theft - if anything it is an unsolicited invoice.

    You're comparing oranges and apples
