The TV licence isn't just to watch BBC either. You have to have one to watch 'all' the channels.

Can you honestly say you never watch live tv

    Yes I can!

(At least in my own home - I might half watch the odd few minutes of the news, while visiting a friend)
  • It's not a case of being pedantic.

I was pointing out that, unlike some taxes, which I have no choice but to pay, in the case of the TVL I have a choice, and have made the choice not to do such things, as would require me to pay the LF.

BTW. Is there any need for the insults?

You are trying to compare essential public services with a ruddy broadcaster, I mean how silly can the argument for the BBC get.

Those who don't are freel0aders. If you don't like the law of the land then campaign against it, vote against it, or naff off to live somewhere more to your liking.

Who says I'm breaking the law. You are nothing more than a leftist BBC bully, seen it all before and so predicable

But if you break it, then I for one hope you end up in prison.

Once again very 30s Germany, they'd be proud of you.

Your argument is completely false, everyone else IS "subsidising" your Cable or Satellite. Everything they buy has a bit added to the cost for the advertising budget.

Absolute rubbish. That silly BBC pitch has been used to death and ignore the fact advertising helps lower costs because of bulk selling. This is why new items like the plasma once cost £3000 plus but can now be picked up for £299
Can you honestly say you never watch live tv

Well the BBC don't seem to think so because I've been under investigation for over 21yrs now and their TV detector equipment would know :D

I take it you are another one who demand everyone should fund the BBC because you happen to like it?

There's still alot of people who think they pay the licence for watching the BBC.

    Candy

It was created to fund the BBC though so this will be the reason. Also I'm glad you have noticed how nasty and underhand the pro BBC "people" can be, its an eye opener isn't it.

You didnt answer the question let me repeat it for you

Can you honestly say you never watch live tv

I didn't ask whether BBC think you do or not its a simple question.

You assume just because I ask a question I then must be, you're words "another one who demand everyone should fund the BBC because you happen to like it?"

Actually although I do have a licence I would scrap it tomorrow but my reasons are many

    1. Too many repeats
    2. Not enough quality programs
    3. Other programs take a back seat when sport is on
    4. Too many people get paid too much I am not talking about normal low end of staff. Also too much waste and spending way over for events

I can live without tv but not entertainment IE I watch films on blu-ray

I take it you are another one who demand everyone should fund the BBC because you happen to like it?

Based on that, you too could join the ranks on the LLF.

Of course, you would become a target for accusatory and threatening letters, visits, etc.
