Dont feel very fab today, and feeling very depressed to say the least. Enough said. Maybe I will feel mmore like fabbing tomorrow.

I found the talk about the housing interesting. But then I wish I had some funds to be able to buy instead of having to live in LA housing and have to live where I was put. But then I must be greatful that I actually did manage to get a LA house after many years of renting and moving. (This is my 40th "home" now.). I would love to be back at work, well, and able to start again. Time is running out for that wish to work though!
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Mooloo - sorry if this is out of turn because I'm not entirely sure of your personal circumstances so forgive me if I'm way off. I'm not sure do you have younger family members who live with you.

I do understand your frustrations with LA housing, and having to move 40 times doesn't bear thinking about. Would an over 55's development suit you. At least you would have security of tenure and you could chose your own location. I appreciate they may not be suitable if you still have younger people in the household.

Bitsy - you are being very positive about your husband's redundancy - it's not easy. I hope things work out for you.

Well I went to Sainsbury's - they've already started putting out their Autumn range. We've not had any summer yet:rotfl:

I was dithering about among the sale items - not going to pay full price for Autumn wear just yet. There were two lovely young women there and we got chatting - as you do - well as I do - I think you've all gathered I'm a chatterbox.

After showing me a couple of things that they thought would suit me I cracked a joke that they were just what I needed - my own personal shopper. Well that was it - that's exactly what they did - they rummaged through the rails, showing me things, holding them up against me, smiling and frowning where appropriate.

It was such fun - they were lovely girls and we had a great time. I would have loved to have had daughters of my own to do that kind of thing with. My boys are great but can I get them to go girly shopping with me - of course not and quite right to.

I ended up buying a lovely Gok Wan kimono styled jacket, a cowl neck snuggly winter jumper and a denim blue embroidered top.

Time to whizz round with the hoover, cook dinner and then off to belt out some pop songs.

    Hi all.

    Just a short one today:
maman - thanks for the thoughts hun, am muddling through :)
Mooloo - sending you *hugs* hope things pick up soon x
LL - sounds like you've been busy :) The shopping trip sounds fun, I could do with some personal shoppers as well lol!

Anyway, had a few drinks last night, first night off I think I've had in weeks so was quite nice - though OH's mate was round and I must admit they were a little noisy after I'd gone to bed so feeling a wee bit tired today. Managing to get through the editing slowly, have another wedding Friday (although it's only a tiny one so just covering ceremony in the morning and then a few shots when they go to a restaurant afterwards) so hoping to get through most of the last one by then. Had a really nice email this morning from the bride for the Friday one saying that she had been trying to think if there was something she could do for me as they're not paying me. She works for quite a big company and asked if I would like her to put a kind of review of their day with me and a few photos in their newsletter, which goes out to about 10,000 people. I'm not going to count on it yet as it's a well-known company and I was quite surprised that they would be ok with something non-business related going in their newsletter but if it goes ahead then could be really good advertising for me :)

Sparkles and WW- that's a lot of walking - you must be super fit. I think I would be dead after that lot.

WW - can I ask where you got your running shoes from. I'm thinking I might have a go at the couch to 5k. I probably couldn't do it the proper timescales but I could perhaps just go at my own pace - do they do it for snails. :rotfl:
    .

I got my new shoes from a Sports Direct store after having a bit of a look at the internet. They have a dept called He Runs, She Runs that is dedicated to just running shoes. They have this fancy machine that you put your feet on and it shows you an imprint of your feet giving size and whether you have high, medium or low arches and all of the shoes are colour coded on the display labels so you know which types should suit your feet. The prices ranged from £25ish to £100. Mine were £35 in the sale (should have been around £60 if I remember correctly).
Have tried them out once and they are very comfy and light, so quite pleased with them.
With regards to the pace you run - just take it easy and build up - I'm no Mo Farrah!

Its a miserable day here, wet and drizzly. Dog walking was not fun:(
I'm off to Blackpool on a school trip tomorrow to the Pleasure Beach - not my idea of fun in the rain. Oh well, will grit my teeth and plod through it.

Will do the Shred tonight as I can't be doing with running in the rain, especially as it will be the first time on Week 3 of Couch to 5K. And there's another dog walk to do too.

I managed the nails last night but not the face mask so will do that tonight. I started to watch Educating Rita and forgot how good it was so watched it to the end meaning I didn't go to bed until quite late for me and then read for an hour so a bit tired this morning. Earlyish night tonight, especially as I want to get up extra early tomorrow to give the dogs a good walk before work.

Pod - the offer of free advertising sounds promising. Hope it pans out for you.
  • Don't have time to chat so just a quick one! Had a good morning, got exercise out of the way first thing. Sorted through jumpers (2 to throw out- one bobbly black cardigan with hole in sleeves and one zebra print which goes out at the hips and makes my hips look huge!).

Was feeling quite positive until the afternoon when I got shouted/sworn at for no reason. It just took me by surprise. The person who did it (an older man, family member of one of the kids I work with) then turned it into a joke and it was laughed off but made me feel really small. This is the first time he has shouted at me but occasionally makes nasty comments but in a jokey way (but you know he means them). I'm not very good at standing up for myself. He is a very loud person and I am naturally quiet and retiring. I think he is like that with every one, not just me. I usually just try to ignore it but it's getting to me today. I didn't let on that it upset me but felt like crying when I got home. :(

WW, just sneaking out of lurkdom to say that the Pleasure Beach won't let you take your own food into the park unless your school have "booked" one of the picnic areas or you have dietary restrictions....Hope the weather tomorrow is better than today has been - warm & drizzly up here on the Lancashire coast!

Do you have a risk register or incident reporting procedure for making others aware of this? It may be nothing, but then again it may be something for other professionals working with the family to be aware of. And it gives you some protection if anything ever happens in the future, in that you will know you have done what you should / could.

Thanks for that floss - was considering taking food to try to stay on the diet straight and narrow - glad I know now not to bother. Oh well, I suppose I'll HAVE to have chips:rotfl:
  • flos2 I am self employed, so no incident report! The rest of the family are really lovely, and I have known them for years. I only usually have to be around this individual usually around 20mins twice a week. I was just shocked to be spoken to like that. I'm quite sensitive really and just don't like being shouted at! He has a few health problems himself was probably just in a bad mood and unfortunately I was in his firing line.
