Stop every 30 minutes on the M6 ??? LOL
Sorry but have you travelled on the M6? It took me longer than 30 minutes to travel from junction 17 to 15 last friday. Never mind one services to the next.
I think they wanted something a bit more in the middle as they had enough to do roughly just over half the journey.
I think it would take several days if they stopped for 20 minutes every 30 minutes.
I was surprised how long a stop adds to your journey, Even a quick toilet stop can add 20 to 30 minutes.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I think zagubov was saying that each stop takes at least 30 minutes, not that you should stop every 30 minutes.
The husband and I have services stops down to a finely honed art and can be off and back onto the motorway in around 15 minutes. First of all, avoid 8am-10am and 12pm-2pm. Then pull in, both run to the loos, whoever just finished driving gets a takeaway coffee and off we go again. I tend to drive for about 2 hours before stoppping, the hubby for 3.
Fortunately we have a 700 mile tank so don't normally need to fill up en-route.0 -
Hah the things that the retired have time to think about! In my books, if something costs more in my time than it saves it's not worth it (my 'time' being the money I make in an hour).
If I can save £5 fuel with a 20 minute delay it's not worth it, for example!0 -
Aww my interpretation of stop every 30 minutes sounded better
Personally i can drive all day every day, It doesnt bother me. In a car, Lorry or towing the caravan. Midands to Cumbria or Cornwall. There and back in the same day more than a few times.
I used to enjoy driving though, Now its more of a irritation.
Traffic conditions and the lack of road signs in area's of speed camera's is a couple of gripes.
If they can put up 20+ signs to warn of a speed camera, Why is it so hard to stick one with the actual speed limit on it.
Any why put a camera on a main A road thats a 50 limit, Then months later drop the speed limit down to 40?
My guess not enough revenue to pay for it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
