M6 where to get petrol?

I will be travelling from Scotland to Reading down the M6 and I will need about 50 litres of petrol and my tank only holds 30 litres.
Where would be a good place to fill up again, preferably on the M6 some where past Birmingham as the last time I left the motorway to fill up I got lost?

For the sake of a few pennies and at the risk of getting lost just fill up at a service station, your are talking about £1.50p difference on 30 litres.0

And have lunch either in the cafe there or get 45p hotdogs at Ikea down the road.0 -
So all petrol stations on the M6 have the same price for their petrol?
I thought that the price might vary depending on where the petrol station was, just like here in Scotland where in Dundee the price at BP could be 133.9 and in Perth 22 miles away the price could be 136.9 at the BP garage.
Also in Perth there are 2 BP garages within 2 miles of each other that have different prices.0 -

Shareshill just north of Birmingham. Get off at J11 and turn right onto the A460. Follow for about a mile and there's a petrol station on the right past a set of traffic lights. Fill up, turn round and back to the motorway.0

Oh my, That could take 20 minutes on a good day. The fuel station is small and gets busy if you time it wrong.
Not worth the effort. Got to be better stops than that one?
Even if its 10p a litre more, 30 litres £3. How far do you want to detour for that?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

About half-way on your journey at Junction 23, M6, signed for Haydock Park which connects to the A580 is a Shell petrol station on the roundabout.0

Fill up before you leave home and then just do a splash and dash to get you to your destination. The shell station just on the English side of the border (A74) used to be the cheapest (but that was before the road was upgraded) but probably too far north for you.0

There was but it's been closed for a few weeks now. No idea if it's gone for good but it's all been dug up.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140
